Schalk Willem 'Hond' van der Merwe is a South African rugby union player, currently playing with the Template:Rut Kings in Super Rugby. He previously played for the Template:Rut Golden Lions and Template:Rut Free State Cheetahs in domestic South African rugby, for the Template:Rut Lions in Super Rugby and for Template:Rut Montpellier in the French Top 14.[1] His usual position is prop.

He joined the Template:Rut Golden Lions prior to the 2014 season.[2] He was included in the Template:Rut Lions squad for the 2014 Super Rugby season[3] and made his debut in a 21–20 victory over the Template:Rut Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.[4][5]
