Scotonycteris is a small genus of bat in the family Pteropodidae. These bats are found in various countries of West and Central Africa. It currently contains only one species:

Pohle's fruit bat, Scotonycteris ophiodon, was formerly placed into this genus, until an analysis of mitochondrial DNA placed it into the genus Casinycteris instead.[1]
