History

The line was opened on 5 April 1930[1] by the Musashino Railway.[citation needed] In 1943, the line was designated a formal route for people to evacuate to Sayama Park to escape from bombing raids, but service on the line was suspended in 1944. The company merged with the Seibu Railway in 1945, and services recommenced on the line in 1948.[citation needed]
