Sergio María Ginés Jesús Hernández y Martinez (born 1 July 1959), known by his supporters as Gregory XVIII, is the current Pope of the Palmarian Catholic Church.[1] He succeeded Manuel Corral (Palmarian Pope Peter II) in July 2011.

Gines was previously a member of the Spanish Military and also served as a secretary of state for his church.

Between 2005 and 2011, he served as secretary of state under Palmarian Pope Manuel Corral (Peter II). After Corral's death, Gines was elected on 16 July 2011 his successor in El Palmar de Troya and adopted the papal name Gregory XVIII. Gines has nominated his possible successors: either Joseph Odermatt from Switzerland or a Bishop named Eliseo María. Gines is a hardened Carlista, noted for their red berets .
