Sharada Prasad has been a member of the 17th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh.He won the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections held in 2017 by defeating his close contestant Jitendra Kumar from Bahujan Samaj Party with a margin of 20.063 votes.
