Small Soldiers is a 1998 PlayStation action video game, based on the film of the same name.

Story[edit]

The game is set in the fantasy world of Gorgon where the evil Commando Elite are trying to eliminate the heroic Gorgonites and destroy their home. Most of the characters are in the game, along with the addition of two new heroic Gorgonites and three new evil Commando Elite machinery: Stench and Nibble for the heroic Gorgonites: and Bipod, Mortar and Sentry for the evil Commando Elite. Players take the role of the noble cat-like leader Archer, as he battles against the evil Commando Elite, led by the squad commanding platoon Chip Hazard. Archer is voiced by Gregg Berger. Tommy Lee Jones is also the only actor who reprised his role as Chip Hazard.

Gameplay[edit]

Single-player[edit]

Players are equipped with a rapid-fire crossbow, which can receive new ammunition type, which has various accuracies and strengths. Players can also use turrets and battle-walkers. These are hard to be damaged and can deal serious damage on enemies. Players can also rescue fellow heroic Gorgonites like Insaniac, who will attack the nearby evil Commando Elite.

Multiplayer[edit]

In multiplayer mode, players can play as either the heroic Gorgonite leader Archer or the evil Commando Elite leader Chip Hazard. The gameplay is the same as single-player, only without allies and enemies. For Chip Hazard his default weapon is a rapid-fire pistol, which can also receive new ammunition types.

Soundtrack[edit]

The soundtrack for the game was also composed by Michael Giacchino.
