Cosmic Dancer is the fifth studio album by British pop-rock project Shakespears Sister. The album was initially released exclusively through Shakespears Sister's website, however it received a full release in November 2012.[1]

Background[edit]

Cosmic Dancer consists more of an acoustic rock sound compared to the electronic-oriented Songs from the Red Room. The majority of tracks on the album are not original, being covers of classic tracks or reworkings of older Shakespears Sister songs.[2] Fahey had announced as early as April 2010 that she was working on an acoustic album, for the purpose of it "being a nice thing to do for the fans".[3] She also worked on the album with her son, Sam.[3] No singles were released from the album, although "Dancing Barefoot" and "Someone Else's Girl" were released as special promotional singles through exclusively Shakespears Sister's website.
