Son of Sardaar 2 is an upcoming Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, N R Pachisia and Pravin Talreja. It is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 film Son of Sardaar. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and Sanjay Mishra. Principal photography began in July 2024 and has taken place in Edinburgh, London, and Chandigarh, India.[1][2][3] It will be the posthumous film of Mukul Dev.[4]
The film is set to theatrically release date on 25 July 2025.[5]

Production
Casting
Ajay Devgn reprises his role from the prequel. Sanjay Dutt was initially meant to reprise his role, however he was unable to join the UK schedule due to his visa being rejected by the UK.[6][7] He was replaced by Ravi Kishan.[2] Dutt however confirmed that he was still a part of the film, but wouldn't be included in the UK schedule.[8][9] Vijay Raaz was signed but later dropped from the project.[10]
Filming
Principal photography took place in Edinburgh in July 2024 with a filming schedule reported at 50 days.[1][11] Filming later took place in the UK in London and at the Firth of Forth.[12][13] Filming also took place in Punjab, India.[3][14] On April 2025, Kubbra Sait completed her dubbing.[15]
Music
The songs of the film are composed by Jaani, Harsh Upadhyay and Sunny Vik while the background score is composed by Amar Mohile and Salil Amrute. The first single titled "Son of Sardaar 2 (Title Track)" was released on 1 July 2025.[16] The second single titled "Pehla Tu Duja Tu" was released on 7 July 2025.[17]
