Chervona Ukraina (from Ukrainian: "Червона Україна" — "Red Ukraine") was a Soviet Svetlana-class light cruiser attached to the Black Sea Fleet.
She was laid down on October 3 1913 as Admiral Nakhimov (renamed to Chervona Ukraina on December 7 1922), launched on 6 November 1915 and commissioned on 21 March 1927. The hull was about 80% complete at the start of the Russian Civil War and was scuttled by the Interventionists in Odessa harbour. The ship was raised by the Soviets in 1920 and towed to Nikolayev. It was decided to finish her in 1923 and the job was completed in 1927 to nearly the original design.
Several Soviet naval commanders have served on the ship: Nikolai Gerasimovich Kuznetsov, N. Nesvitskiy, and Y. Panteleyev. She had an active career in the early part of the war being involved in the defece of Odessa and Sevastopol. The cruiser was destroyed by German bombers during the battle of Sevastopol on 12 November 1941.
