The 2028 Summer Olympics will include the sport of squash for the first time as an optional sport.[1][2]
History
[edit]Squash has been a regular fixture at multi-sport events such as the Asian Games, Pan American Games, Commonwealth Games and World Games. It was accepted as a demonstration sport for the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.[3]
Squash will make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Summer Olympics,[1] and it is planned to be hosted on the Universal Studios Lot in Universal City, California.[4] Squash had previously been rejected from the Olympic Games on four occasions in a row.[5] World Squash has declared its intention to apply for squash's inclusion at the 2032 Summer Olympics.[6]
