Mookambika is the Hindu goddess who is representing Adi Parashakti, who is known simply as Shakti or Parvati. Adishakti is the original creator, preserver and destroyer of the whole universe.She is often depicted with three eyes and four arms with a divine disc and conch. The goddess has a large following among the people of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu states of India, popularly being known as "Thayi Mookambike", Mooghambighai Amma or Thaai Mooghambighai, where Amma and Thaai mean "mother".[1][2][3][better source needed][4][better source needed][5][better source needed] Her most popular shrine is located in the village of Kollur in Udupi district of coastal Karnataka.>[6][7]
