Success Sutras for the 21st Century: A Trilogy of Wisdom (Set of 3 Hardback books - Chanakya’s Political Wisdom, Kabir’s Spiritual Wisdom and Confucius’ Social Wisdom) is a political, social and spiritual commentary by Pavan Choudary that describes how to achieve Political sharpness, Social order and Spiritual bliss for the common man as well as for the statesman/politician.[1]

Summary[edit]

This trilogy of Chanakya’s Political Wisdom, Confucius’ Social Wisdom & Kabir’s Spiritual Wisdom, is a commentary for the common man as well as for the statesman/politician. The trilogy aims to provide a ready guide to achieve Political sharpness, Social order and Spiritual bliss. It is a rendition and interpretation of Indian and Chinese Wisdom carefully sifted and packaged for Success in the 21st century.[2]

Chanakya: It is indeed the best time to showcase the work of the Indian Machiavelli - Chanakya - for both the Indian and the Western world. Chanakya's Political Wisdom is particularly relevant because what Chanakya has said 2500 years ago, becomes relevant again. His thoughts are as valid for a common man as for a king.[3]

Saint Kabir has been one of the unique Indian poet – thinker. Achieving a peak in spiritual consciousness, Kabir was not just a spiritual guru. Kabir’s dohas or couplets have been widely translated and attempts to interpret them have also been made. However, most of this interpretation is esoteric and academic. It often does not do justice to this great master of his times. The following pages truly highlight the essence of Kabir, not as a poet or spiritualist alone, but as a Success Guru.

Confucius was a sage and social philosopher of China whose teachings have deeply influenced East Asia, including China, Korea, and Japan for two thousand five hundred years. He talked of duty, he talked about action and not just idle action, but wise action…that leads to a happy populace and restores social order.

How should a person behave – as the unit of a family, a society member and as a ruler?

How can social relationships be brought in harmony?

Why some societies succeeded while the others failed?

What can India learn from successful and prosperous societies?

The reading is aimed at opening your window to harmonious relationships.

Controversies[edit]

In January 2010, Pavan Choudary alleged that the scriptwriter of a Bollywood film Veer had copied a 'thought' or a 'concept' from the Hindi translation of Success Sutras for the 21st Century: A Trilogy of Wisdom (Chanakya’s Political Wisdom). He filed a case[4] against scriptwriter and actor Salman Khan, producers Vijay Galani and Eros International, Anil Sharma (director), scriptwriter of the film and the actor Salman Khan. Later the Delhi High Court issued notices[5] to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and director Anil Sharma for allegedly taking some concepts from the book for their film Veer. During the hearing the court did not prevent the theatrical release, as by the time the suit came up for hearing the film was about to release. The court reserved the order after arguments, and the Plaintiff was informed that on 20.04.2011 EROS had made a statement that they have removed the portion under question from all the commercial exploitation. Immediately, upon such assurance, Choudary withdrew his suit. It is also worth noting that the said portion which was being used in the trailer of the film too was removed by the producers from the DVDs/Satellite release of the film in April 2010 itself.
