Sunblocked is the debut film of Astropiano Films.[1][2] It is a light comedy directed and written by Jessica Cook, produced by Shannon Carter and Jessica Cook.[1][2] The film premiered on October 1, 2010 in Harvard Square to a sold out crowd. Sunblocked stars Shannon Carter, Chris McGilvary, Nate Lopez and Alyssa Freedman.[1][2] The film follows a young girl, Aloe (Shannon Carter), who has given up on the world. She has a bad job, a crazy family and is still nursing the wounds from an ex love. The only person Aloe can depend on is her best friend Derek, who is dealing with relationship troubles of his own. But Aloe’s world is about to be turned upside down when new guy Frank comes to town. Aloe must decide to take a chance at a new start or let her heart remain blocked forever.[1][2]
