  • Mike Bon (vocals/guitars)
  • Jonathan "Jon" Catacutan (bassist)
  • Cholo Escano (drums)

Early life[edit]

Longtime friends Mike Bon, Jonathan Catacutan and Cholo Escano started dreaming to be part of the OPM scene as bandmates in 2005, but situations made their ambition far-fetched.

“May mga kanta na kaming naisulat noon pero hindi kasi nailabas ‘yung album eh so parang nagkanya-kanya muna kami noon. Pumunta sa kanya-kanya at iba't ibang banda, nagtrabaho,” Jonathan recalled.

While they have separated ways, their one-time reunion for another gig in 2012 led them back to their dreams.

“Naisip namin parang successful ‘yung show, naisip namin ituloy namin ‘yung project,” Mike said.

Music career[edit]

Since 2014, Mike, Jonathan and Cholo have been taken in by GMA Records as one of their artists under the name The Mike Bon Gang.

Mike is the band’s main vocalist and guitarist. Jonathan is on bass while Cholo plays the drums. They are set to release their first album, consisting of 10 originals written by Mike and Jonathan.

While their dreams seemed like a decade in the making, pursuing it was indeed every bit worth it.

“Sobrang blessed kami tsaka this is a big opportunity for us na maging ka-tie up namin ang isang malaking network. Sobrang malaking tulong [‘yung] isang network ang mag-release ng album,” Mike concluded.
