TOPCAT is an interactive graphical viewer and editor for tabular data. It is open-source software, originally written and still maintained by Mark Taylor, an astrophysicist from Bristol University.

Written in Java, TOPCAT can be used both standalone and within a web browser.

Uses

Applications using TOPCAT include:

  • MultiDark, a database for results from cosmological simulations.
  • ICAT, a catalogue software for Large Facility experimental data.
