Proposed merge with Mary Anna Jackson[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
Boldly closing the discussion, even though I !voted. It seems clear that there is no consensus to merge, and the discussion is rather stale. StAnselm (talk) 01:19, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

It seems Mary Anna Jackson is not notable outside of being married to Stonewall Jackson, so her article should be merged with his. Jinkinson talk to me 16:24, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Merge. Mary Anna Jackson wrote a book of her husband's "memoirs" after his death, based on his writings. That's not enough to give her notability. Binksternet (talk) 16:43, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Merge. Yes, Mary Anna is only notable in relation to her husband. As she did write a book about Jackson, she should perhaps be given a bit more than token representation in the Stonewall biography. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 19:17, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
  • Oppose merge - the merge tag was posted immediately after creation (when it was only two sentences long), but since then the article has been greatly expanded. StAnselm (talk) 11:50, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Oppose merge. She is a notable historical figure in her own right, as a 19th century author. -- (talk) 06:30, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Oppose Merge. Mary Anna should have her own page if only for organizational reasons. Somebody looking to access information about her may not want to dig through a bunch of facts about Stonewall Jackson looking for his wife. • Oppose Merge. She is notable in her own right.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 22:24, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Stonewall Jackson Shrine[edit]

I was looking in this article for information on the Stonewall Jackson Shrine and it's not even mentioned. The building where he died on the Chandler plantation is now part of the one of the National Park Service battlefield parks and called the Stonewall Jackson Shrine. There is a sign for it on I 95. I've always thought calling it "shrine" was a bit over the top and have not found information about how it came to have that name.Dmcmahdc (talk) 20:47, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

The NPS has this cached page. Also, there is this query which may give you more details.
