The meaning of the last sentence is ambiguous. I'm also not sure if it should be at the end of the article. [[User:137.22.6.186|137.22.6.186]] 03:07, 6 March 2006 (UTC) |

This section needs to be cleaned up at the end of the article: "Ride is the only person to serve on both of the panels investigating Shuttle accidents (those for the Challenger explosion and the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster). Also she became very important to society. Se helped, and inspired many people, and she still does. Today she is mariied and with two kids." < |

WikiProject Biography Assessment
Very nearly a B. Perhaps some sections and inline citations b?
The article may be improved by following the WikiProject Biography 11 easy steps to producing at least a B article. -- Yamara 13:04, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Youngest in Orbit?
It is claimed that Sally Ride was the youngest person sent into orbit at 31. However Gherman Titov was just 25 when he flew on Vostok 2 way back in 1961. It is possible she is either the youngest American or youngest woman in orbit (or both), but I am not sure. Anyway for now I will remove that line, someone can restore it if they can find a reliable source to the contray. Teiresias84 00:43, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
NASA bio
Do we really need her NASA bio reproduced verbatim on this page, especially considering their is an external link to it? If no one objects, I'll remove it in a day or two. Teiresias84 04:48, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well I just did it, however I accidently hit enter in the middle of my edit summary - its supposed to read something like 'rvt newbie tests and removed nasa biog'. Teiresias84 12:36, 23 February 2007 (UTC) she is the first american woman to go to space
Popular Culture
Should there be a section of her in popular culture? shes mentioned in Billy Joel's song 'We Didn't Start the Fire'
WikiProject class rating
This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 10:03, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Relevence
Is this passage really relevant?
- Her voice, however, was not the first female voice to be transmitted from an American spacecraft; during Skylab, a recording of Helen Garriott — wife of crewmember Owen Garriott — was transmitted down to Mission Control as a prank, pretending that she was actually onboard the spacecraft
Just seems to me like trivia that doesn't have anything to do with Ride's accomplishment. --74.138.214.5 (talk) 19:57, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

can the above-mentioned passage be deleted? I proposed this some time ago and there's been no reply, as you can see. --74.138.214.5 (talk) 23:59, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
