Yuri[edit]

Who is Yuriy Sahakyan, when and where he was born? Any referance please? --Verman1 (talk) 12:15, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

@LaundryPizza03: Hey! Is there a guideline specifying that only individuals with their own Wikipedia pages can be included on "Notable people"-lists on geographic articles? Feel free to enlighten me if there is. AntonSamuel (talk) 09:06, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@AntonSamuel: WP:LISTCRIT and WP:NOTDIR basically say that listson Wikipedia shouldn't be an attempt to enumerate every subject in a long list of possibly non-notable topics. WP:GNG does not require that an article already exists, but it is usually easier to check if an article already exists. Unless you can prove that this person meets WP:GNG and create an English-langauge article or locate an existing foreign-language Wikipedia article which can be translated to English, this person should not be included in the list. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 09:25, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@LaundryPizza03: I see! Yuri Sahakyan does have an article on the Armenian-language Wikipedia [1] and is listed on Wikidata [2] and Commons [3]. His work seems notable enough with regard to Armenia/Nagorno-Karabakh [4], I'd say it deserves a mention. AntonSamuel (talk) 09:37, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@AntomSamuel: Thanks, added with inter-langauge redlink to encourage article creation. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 09:40, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
