WP:COMMONAME for both footballers is just "Óscar Pérez" as per almost all references and external links, they don't use their maternal surnames professionally. Disambiguate to standard for footballers. Ortizesp (talk) 13:57, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@DrKay: - actually, it says "use the most conclusive of the following steps". In practice, that is year of birth, then nationality, then position - that is order of fluidity/certainty. GiantSnowman 16:53, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This follow NFOOTY convention, most pages go by birth year.--Ortizesp (talk) 14:03, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people)#Disambiguating: "Years of birth and death are not normally used as disambiguators (readers are more likely to be seeking this information than to already know it)". Years of birth are only used when there is no other reasonable disambiguator, such as when people of the same name have the same profession and nationality. DrKay (talk) 12:17, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
As per WP:NCSP, nationality or birth year can both be used as disambiguators for footballers.--Ortizesp (talk) 13:58, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Amended. DrKay (talk) 18:14, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
