Good find on those, Gtongas. I'm going to post a quick link on blackboard so it's up there for class tonight. Anthonymperry (talk) 20:29, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

I just added a notable celebrities section and I'm still looking for pop culture referencesGtongas (talk) 19:33, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

I was thinking about putting in some more history from the hall of fame site. Anything else crucial we ought to add? Anthonymperry (talkcontribs) —Preceding undated comment added 12:24, 19 April 2011 (UTC).

Yea, I think discussion of Chicago particular stuff like that would be good. I know Chicago sport social runs some leagues but I don't know about the more competitive ones. Tony Perry 12:30, 18 April 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anthonymperry (talkcontribs)

Do you think it would benefit to add something about how Chicago has leagues in the spring through the fall? Maybe if there is a central website of a central group here in Chicago that runs a popular rec league? IDK what does everyone think? (Bige08046 (talk) 21:41, 17 April 2011 (UTC))

The hall of fame section is now up. What else should we look to add? More History? Notable stars of the game or pop culture references? Expand on what's already on the page? talk —Preceding undated comment added 18:57, 17 April 2011 (UTC).

I just put up a first attempt at the game rules and league/tournament play. Most of the information I've found is Chicago-centric or national. They are raising money for a softball hall of fame softball hall of fame I'll work probably put up at some point tomorrow. I like your questions. It would probably make this page more interesting if we added information outside the norm of just History and Rules. (Bige08046 (talk) 11:58, 15 April 2011 (UTC))

Thanks for adding this information to keep the page from being deleted yet again.

It seems to me there is a bit of research to do. History, Rules and Chicago connection as potential subheadings? I'll do some research on the rules given the link above and add them either this evening or tomorrow. Tony Perry 16:56, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Questions[edit]

As you do your research, some thoughts come to mind. Are there places (other than Chicago) where the game is still played? Are there any other variations on the rules? Are there any notable athletes through the history of the sport? Any references to it in pop culture (such as featuring in a movie scene)? I'm very interested to see how this project progresses. Requested photo[edit]

Could someone, perhaps a Chicagoan, produce a photo of a 16-inch softball, especially with a standard softball and baseball for comparison? --BDD (talk) 17:14, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
