Extra sources, difficult as "before web"
[edit]Getting full sources for this accident is difficult because it happened "before" the web. There are a few source I am still tracking down and would appreciate any further help.
- Spoornet links to legal case including any action against the operator NOKSpoor (Noord-Oos Kaap Spoor / N E C RAIL) (Company Number: M1992002497) which later operated under Orange River Rail Company (M1974003120).
- Bushveld Train Safaris reference and / or photos of the event. It is covered in book Tracks Across the Veld - A Southern African Rail Safari.
- Any wikipedia suitable photos of the accident from 1992.
- Any better photos of the monument today.
- Any sources which detail the damage the accident caused to the private and heritage railway / leisure railway industry in South Africa. I only have 1st hand accounts referencing the insurance costs becoming unaffordable and direct hostility from Spoornet which collapses the fledgling industry.
- Any scans of the Die Burger newspaper (or other) coverage of the accident. I believe it was Die Burger 22 Jan 1992 edition. Online source? SABINET $$$, https://www.nlsa.ac.za/ is offline.

- Tracks Across the Veld page is 151 in the English edition is about the accident. There is a photo of the train at the monument. There is also an Afrikaans edition which I am waiting for a copy.
- Facebook article about the accident, including photos of the derailed train and the modern monument. Not a reliable source for Wikipedia, may be fruitful in finding additional suitable references.
- Tracks Across the Veld references the costs of insurance "After this accident is was impossible to get insurance for any realistic rate for any future trips"
