Spelling of 'Manoever'[edit]

Can anyone tell me what is the correct spelling of the word 'manoever' which is to be used in this site? There are so many different spellings of it in differnent pages also. MassaAlonso (talk) 16:27, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are (to my knowledge) two correct spellings of the word: "maneuver" (the US spelling) and "manoeuvre" (the UK spelling). Which spelling is used on any particular page depends on which variety of English is being used on that page - refer to WP:ENGVAR. Hope this helps. DH85868993 (talk) 23:12, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In this page, the spelling is used as "manoeuvre", but in other F1-related pages, for example, the 2010 Chinese Grand Prix, the spelling is "maneuver". I suggest that the same spelling is used in F1-related articles to prevent confusion. MassaAlonso (talk) 03:21, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As a general rule, most F1-related Wikipedia articles use UK spelling (as a reflection of the category's European origins). A single article should use one variant or the other. I notice that 2010 Chinese Grand Prix uses "tyre" rather than "tire", so it should also use "manoeuvre" rather than "maneuver". I have changed it. DH85868993 (talk) 03:33, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
