Is it true Blossom and MMC ('90s version) are coming to the network or just another vandal posting crap? If it's true, I would die of joy!

Why is this page a re-direct to a ghost link?? 22:13, 24 Apr 2004 (UTC)

This needs a complete rewrite in a new point of view, because the first writer didn't take into account that this network was CBN, then The Family Channel, for about fifteen years before Fox or ABC got involved with it. I mean, it wasn't THAT long ago. Mike H 02:10, Jun 27, 2004 (UTC)

explaining revert[edit]

The fact that this entity is owned by the Walt Disney Company and ABC is mentioned in the article and in the article's catigorization. Therefore, the see also section is unnecessary. Gentgeen 06:05, 13 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Closed Captions[edit]

I am hard of hearing. Most of your shows are not closed caption and I would like to know why. I have two kids and I like to watch the movies with my kids but I can't enjoy it when I can't hear it or read it. Would you please put in the closed caption so I can watch this channel.

My friend, are you deaf? My neighbor is almost deaf and I can hardly understand a word he says. Anyway, I'm sorry. Try another channel. 13:14, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Uh...this website is not affiliated with the TV station and we therefore have no say over the Closed Captioning choices it makes. This is an encyclopedia article about the channel. --ʀ6ʍɑʏ89 03:21, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Longtime Movies ?[edit]

I don't understand what this section is for. Is it a list of movies that are regularly aired on the network, or just a partial list of films that have ever been broadcast on it? If the latter I can't see that it deserves to stay. Also it isn't clear which Chocolate Factory movie is meant to be linked to.--ThreeAnswers 07:09, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

It is very confusing. I think that we should only list ABCFamily's original movies on it (movies that were first aired on abcfamily). That would be like 3 of those listed plus a few others (there's a full list on their site). I'll get to doing this later today if no one else does. --ʀ6ʍɑʏ89 13:07, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

The Chocolate Factory movie ABC Family holds is the 1971 musical.

Sign-off[edit] has a whole page of sign-off clips from several stations in the southeast and mid-atlantic. You can find it here.

I found a sign-off of the Family Channel (when it was called "The CBN Family Channel") from 1989. Actually, it's a one-hour "weekly scheduled maintenance." Check out the montage clip with the theme "Together We're Family!" Click here for a direct link to the ASF (Windows Media) file.

Oh yeah, and if you want to comment on this video you can. Mattderojas 02:46, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

The Channel's Future?[edit]

Sheesh, after reading the article, I have to wonder what's going to eventually become of this channel. They're discontinuing Jetix, but what does that mean for weekend programming (at least)? Isn't Disney ever going to elaborate on this?

One thing is certain, if this channel gets sold again, it had better not go to 4Kids...

Heh, just about anyone would be better than FOX. You should have seen what they did to the network eight years ago... it was a total mess! When Pee-Wee's Playhouse is your network's most entertaining series, you know something's wrong with it! --M.Neko 13:39, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Why, what did they do? Mattderojas 01:35, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Very good question, indeed. However, they currently have programming on 2 networks. Incidentally, I'm pulling off The Hogan Family from the list of reruns. 19:33, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

I think every weekend the Harry Potter films are shown over and over and over and over... Japanimation station (talk) 17:00, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Invalid Links[edit]

Who keeps adding links to items that don;t even have pages? Like in hte original programming section, it was fine and now there a re ugly red links to NOWHERE!!!

The Hogan Family[edit]

What's The Hogan Family?

What is the name of this show?[edit]

I remember there being a show on ABC family and I don't think it is listed in the past shows.. it was about a Jewish family and this girl went to Catholic school and made friends with a very materialistic girl.. what is the name of it?

State of Grace it was on back when it was Fox Family

Please Confirm...[edit]

I've seen a lot of stuff mentioning future programming for ABC Family, but the only one with anything confirmed is My Wife and Kids. Confirmation for the others (ex.: Blossom would be helpful in proving this isn't a junk edit.

Keeping the article clean and useful[edit]

DO NOT EVER return invalid links, the red links all over the page, only link something if you know FOR SURE it has it's own page, or add the page and link it, didn’t anyone notice all the red in the original movie section, my god, it was too much. Also, I made a separate article for programming; don't make the list on this page so long, if you have to do it, do it on the other page List of programs shown on ABC Family.

Harry Potter on ABC Fam[edit]

Anyone find it ironic that ABC Family occasionally shows the Harry Potter movies, at the same time Pat Robertson denounces them as evil on 700 Club? Wl219 23:24, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

That's what he gets for selling the channel. I agree with Pat on that, but since he sold it (and the original recipent; Fox, has since sold it to Disney), I would think he has NO control over programming whatsoever. WAVY 10 15:26, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Well, I would expect that so-called "Christians" would attack/persecute something they don't agree with or understand. And, it's actually rather ironic when "Christians" complain about their kind getting persecuted for their belief when "Christianity" itself has quite the history of violence: the Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, the Dark/Middles Ages, the Salem witch trials, & so on & so forth. If anything, the ONLY evil I've seen has come from Christianity itself. I mean, church clergy (priests & such) sexually abusing molesting young altar boys & the Church attempting to cover it up. Realistically, the Catholic Church representation here in the US should be arrested & brought up on charges of obstruction of justice. (talk) 12:01, 15 January 2016 (UTC)

Here we go again...[edit]

Look what just got added again..

Article organization[edit]

I made many good changes to the article about one month ago, but still, the continuing problem is programming, so I think whoever moved the programming to the programming page made a really good decision. Also, I added a link to the programming page; it seemed to have been erased in the shuffle. Does anyone else think the history section is too long? 53180 03:38, 18 May 2007 (UTC)53180

Future Programming[edit]

Can someone verify for us if it was ever announced that Blossom and The All-New MMC were being picked up by ABC Family??? I'm assuming by now that the person was falsifying.

On, it states that Fillmore! is goin' 2 air on ABC Family weekdays@3pm. Is that ture? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr. Comedian (talkcontribs) 23:28, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Nope. More fan speculation (didn't we have this problem about 6-7 months ago with the Blossom and 1990s MMC edits) WAVY 10 Fan 22:40, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Abcfamily logo.jpg[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

Image:Abcfamily logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The Family Channel and Fox Family need to be added to its history. (talk) 23:52, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Someone thought it would be a better idea to give the history of the network prior to its own incarnation a separate article and remove it from here (which I disagree with the latter). WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 21:49, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Christmas in July[edit]

Christmas in July was a programming block that aired on the previous Fox Family Channel. Shouldn't that be listed somewhere? -- (talk) 19:14, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

25 Days of Christmas[edit]

The link below the heading of "25 Days of Christmas" and above the paragraph that talks about the "25 Days of Christmas" says that there is a main page for the "25 Days of Christmas" but the link also says that the page doesn't exist. Should the link be deleted or should either the page be created or the link fixed to go to the actual page, if there is one? Gibsonj338 (talk) 16:21, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

"A new kind of family?" "A new kind of this, a new kind of that, etc."

It's been four years now, I think Disney needs to re-make this channel a wee bit better. Also, seems to share problem with The N. Japanimation station (talk) 17:02, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

The slogan is still "A New Kind of Family" visit [1] they haven't changed it yet I think it's cause they're still a new kind of family (talk) 04:19, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Reasons For Disclaimer[edit]

No source was given to justify the claim that it was spurred by discussions of "Abortion" "feminists" or "gays". Disney knew Robertson's stance on those matters when they purchased the channel. Robertson hasn't said anything new on them (unlike his unprecedented call for the assassination of Chavez).

Evidence of Disney Channel's AD))) mark on ABC Family programming[edit]

Orphaned references in ABC Family[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of ABC Family's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "fp-corusdisney":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 19:05, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

Shows cancelled[edit]

So there are some ABC Family shows that are probably cancelled. I'm talking about Freak Out, Becoming Us, Job or No Job, Next Step Realty: NYC and Startup U. None of them appears on Freeform's press website. Maybe they won't even talk about them, because of the name change. What do you think? Should we consider them cancelled? Fansdisney (talk) 23:11, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

TGIF shows deleted[edit]

I deleted the following excerpt from the main article:

"Since 2000, the network has aired several sitcoms that have aired on ABC's former TGIF block, including the Miller-Boyett produced Step by Step (one of the longest-running shows on the channel, running from 2001 to 2010), Family Matters (which ran from 2003 to 2008), Two of a Kind (which ran from 1999 to 2005), Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (which ran from 2006 to 2011), 8 Simple Rules (which ran from 2007 to 2014), and Full House (which ran from 2003 to 2013); Boy Meets World is the only TGIF show that currently airs on the network."

as none of these shows air on Freeform nor are they listed on the website. Rricci428 (talk) 07:38, 25 January 2016 (UTC)

And why could they not be kept in the ABC Family section instead? –Dark Cocoa Frosting (talk) 12:23, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
