3D Should be In The Title[edit]

Even though it will also be in 2D, most theaters will only be playing the film in 3D, plus it says so on the poster that 3D is part of the title. SonOfHollywoooood (talk) 03:47, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The poster doesn't say it's part of the title. The title of the article matches the title of the film, regardless of what "most theaters" are allegedly doing. Millahnna (talk) 03:51, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
How are secondary sources referring to the film? —C.Fred (talk) 04:10, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Without 3D as part of the title, from what I've seen. Some marketing materials include the 3d in such a way that I can see how one might think it is part of the title as opposed to a marketing gimmick. But the (admittedly limited) secondary coverage of the flim I've looked at has stated the title the way we have it now. Millahnna (talk) 04:16, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Some sites refer to it as A Very Harold and Kumar 3D christmas, others as A Very Harold and Kumar CHristmas 3D but the majority of places such as variety refer to it as A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas, though the big sites also flip flop back and forth between any of these combinations. But it's hard to say if they#re going off the confusing poster. I am certainly curious if cinemas are going to be playing it as A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas 2D on the marquee. Should also probably be noted that the official facebook page listed on this article omits the 3D part as well. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 12:50, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There is an explicit discussion here about the name of the film, do not move when the move is controversial. Controversial moves require debate and consensus Darkwarriorblake (talk) 21:16, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
BreakingDexter, are you just willfully ignorant? There is a discussion RIGHT HERE that says we don't know what the official title is. It is referred to as A Very Harold and Kumar CHristmas, A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas and A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas 3D. The only viable name is A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas until we know what the official title is. Not what you think it is, what it actually is. There is a procedure for moves, I reverted it back to what it was and then posted here, which would have shown up on your watchlist, that controversial moves require consensus. Then you flat out ignored me and re-did it.Darkwarriorblake (talk) 21:30, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The bottom of this shows "3D Christmas". Does that help? Erik (talk | contribs) 21:53, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well it look like the studio is putting the 3D in the title, based on the "story" section of the official website. http://haroldandkumar.warnerbros.com/index.html That said, in the future, arguments like "most theaters will only be playing the film in 3D" are 1) extremely hard to quantify (did you call a lot of theatres around the country to verify this) and 2) not helpful to the question of what the film's actual name is.
