Abdulah Sidran From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Abdulah Sidran was born September 9th 1944 in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia (now in Bosnia and Herzegovina); he is also referred to as Avdo, and is a Bosnian writer and poet who is renowned for his screenplays and dramas.

His major works include Šahbaza, Bone and meat, The Sarajevo tomb (Sarajevski tabut), Why is Venice sinking (Zašto tone Venecija), several books of poetry, and screenplays for award-winning movies from the Former Yugoslavia, such as When father was away on business and Do you remember Dolly Bell, directed by Emir Kusturica, and Kuduz and The Perfect Circle, directed by Ademir Kenović. His opus is characterized by a soft and soothing sensibility, where tragedy, meditativity and a specific and humorous irony change sides and play tricks on each other more often than not.

Notice: This article does not verifiably establish WP:BIO[edit]

Ambox warning blue.svg

In my opinion, this article either does not verifiably satisfy the Notability criteria for Biographies, or it may violate the Conflict of interest guideline, or perhaps it is a Copyright violation.

Wikipedia articles must be based on reliable sources to verify any claims of notability. Even though the lack of third-party sources in an article is not grounds for deletion in itself, an article with absolutely no sources (or only external links to unreliable ones, or self-published sources) suggests to some editors that multiple independent reliable sources may not, in fact, exist.

Although I am considering tagging this article for deletion according to the Deletion policy, perhaps User:Muhamedmesic (talk · contribs), or other recent contributors to this article, will make some constructive improvements to it … I do not have time to examine this article in depth at the moment, and it may improve over time, in which case this warning was premature.

Please respond on this Discussion page, instead of on my Talk page, in order to avoid fragmenting the conversation.

To better understand why I have used this template, please read Flag templates for deletion warnings … I realize that some of the expressed possible concerns may not be appropriate in this case. — 141.156.161.245 (talk) 02:28, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
