I would like to edit the initial paragraph on this page, as I feel that it does not give a sufficient summary of what the event was. Cawalker18 (talk) 17:28, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I will be adding sections on significant figures, such as Ransome-Kuti, and the impact of/later events related to the women's revolt. This article already mentions these topics, but only within a large block of text which makes it difficult for readers to quickly find the information they are looking for. Different formatting and more sections would aid this problem. Cawalker18 (talk) 17:32, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Close paraphrasing

[edit]

The line "Under the new structure, the former councils and kings that had ruled each township in Abeokuta (and which, by tradition, had each included at least one female member) were incorporated into one dominant council that was headed by the Alake, the senior oba (king)." is extremely close paraphrasing from a sentence in source 1, which states, "Under the eug, the multiple councils and kings who ruled each township in Abeokuta were streamlined into one dominant council headed by the Alake, the senior oba (king)." I will be rewriting it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cawalker18 (talkcontribs) 04:13, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Citation Needed

[edit]

I noticed that a source number 6 (Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti And The Abeokuta Women Riots) itself points as a source Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:1210:525F:400:3153:9974:D612:6B8E (talk) 20:49, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Taxation would be suspended and the final decisions on the issue communicated to them within three days." Unfortunately, this turned out to be another empty promise "as more assaults were committed and more arrests made." -These are quotations in the "Women's revolt" section without any citation indicating where they came from. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cawalker18 (talkcontribs) 16:03, 22 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
