The company's largest facility, known as the Teesside Environmental Reclamation and Recycling Centre (TERRC) has provoked controversy on a number of occasions by dismantling ships rejected by other facilities including 13 former US Naval vessels in 2003

This is plain wrong:

No ships have, as yet, been dismantled. Able had a contract for 13 ex-USN ships but only four are at TERRC, the contract for the remainder was cancelled. The only occasion (AFAIK) that they have taken on a ship "rejected by other facilities" is the Clemenceau. In particular, the USN ships were purchased through public tender against competition form US shipbreakers[1]

Humber Port[edit]

Able Humber Port (AHP) is situated on the South bank of the Humber Estuary, East Coast of the UK, which in recent years has been the UK’s fastest growing port and logistics centre.[1]
It consists of ABLE Marine Energy Park (AMEP) and ABLE Logistics Park (ALP) and is Europe’s largest new port development providing an exciting proposal for the burgeoning marine renewable energy sector and a variety of port centric logistics functions.
UK Government has identified AHP as a strategic location in the National Renewable Infrastructure Plan and HMG UK Treasury has since confirmed AMEP as the UK’s largest Enterprise Zone now eligible for 100% enhanced capital allowances.
In December 2013, the Secretary of State for Transported authorised the granting of a Development Consent Order for Able Marine Energy Park - a 900 acre development with 1300 shoreline metres of new deep-water quays (up to -17m CD).[2] The AMEP facility is predicted to transform the local economy.[3]
Able Logistics Park (ALP) offers a further 497.5 hectares (1,229.5 acres) site with full planning permission in place for the creation of extensive warehousing (1,700,000m² ), external storage and transportation depots.[4]
