inclusion of seclusion[edit]

let's honour their magnum opus and put it with the other three albums... or at least put its cover somewhere, maybe as a background picture of the whole article? -Gazongagizmo 16:21, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anonymous edits from Leeds university IPs[edit]

There's been a number of rather annoying anonymous edits from IPs registered to the University of Leeds (namely User_talk:129.11.77.198, User_talk:129.11.76.229 and User_talk:129.11.77.197), inserting the following paragraph at the end of the article:

Following strong public feeling and an overwhelming vote of confidence from the fans, Aereogramme announced in early Autumn 2007, their intention to remain together for the foreseeable future. A band source was quoted as saying "following the kind words (from the fans) we felt we didn't want to end something which clearly means a lot to a great deal" New UK and European tour dates are expected soon.

I undid this multiple times and when re-inserting the paragraph, the anonymous editor claimed in the edit summary: "STOP CHANGING THIS!!! I'm in the god dam band I know whether we're reforming or not - LEAVE IT!" I duly reverted that edit as well for the following reasons:

  • If that editor really was in the band, he/she'd announce the un-split exactly where the split was announced (on myspace.com/aereogrammeofficial), rather than making anonymous edits from Leeds university computers
  • The band's official myspace page has no mention of an un-split - in fact, everything there reaffirms that the band are currently going through their last run of concerts together
  • The band still bowed out at Omas Teich Festival on July 27th with the words "We are Aereogramme - we _were_ Aereogramme".
  • "announced in early Autumn 2007" - uhm - yeah, right. Wrong tense, there.

Two of the IP addresses that posted this unsourced and obviously bogus information also edited Dr Pepper - within minutes of the edit to the Aereogramme article. These edits to Dr Pepper also introduced more than questionable, unsourced information (regarding the claim that Dr Pepper contains prune juice), these, too, were redone twice, despite warnings not to vandalise and post unsourced information to Wikipedia. So I dare say this is either somebody trying to have some fun or somebody trying to win a bet (or two) and trying to prove his point via self-edited Wikipedia entries. --afromme 12:59, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some edits[edit]

Added pics and gallery for the singles and EPs section and will do more soon. Anyone wanting to do stuff related to the band should think of creating pages for the members and enhacing this main page. I will work on this in particular and creating pages for the singles and EPs; im already working heavily on The Future Sound of London and Elliot Goldenthal related stuff among other smaller tasks. :) ΤΕΡΡΑΣΙΔΙΩΣ(Ταλκ) 14:36, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
