Orphaned references in Aiden English[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Aiden English's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Aiden English → Matthew Rehwoldt – This page needs to be moved under his real name. We have a bad tendency around here to keep people under their WWE names even long after they moved on to other companies and use different names. The WP:Common Name theory really doesn't apply here, yet some editors cling to it like a teddy bear. This move has to be made, so you can count me in as a Support right off he bat. Oppose Per WP:COMMONNAME, the article has to be the most known name by readers and readers are not die hard wrestling fans (most of them do't even like wrestling). It's not about "the WWE name". Since WWE is the biggest promotion in the world, with the biggest reach, it's normal that the WWE is the commoname. There is no point to include a name less known. About this man, he worked for 8 years in WWE, where he was NXT Tag Team Champion and part of popular acts (tag team with Gotch and Rusev Day). Almost 80% of the article is about him as Aiden English. With Impact, he works as commentator for 2 years. WWE has more viewerthip than Impact.. Looking these 3 weeks, RAW made 1.843.000, 2.260.000 and 1.818.000 viewers. Smackdown, 2.219.000, 2.484.000, 2.468.000. Impact, 104.000, 117.000, 115.000. Talking about viewers, Impact it's just 5% of WWE. Google has 35.200.000 results for Aiden English (4.050 in Google News), Matthew Rehwoldt just 28.700 (105 in google news). Common name is somebody named William going by Bill, or James going by Jim. This isn't it. Google searches and TV ratings aren't relevant to this. Long story short, the Wiki policy doesn't apply here. Sounds like you're proving me right..."WWE gets higher ratings and gets more Google searches, so we have to use his WWE name!", and then you're attaching a Wiki policy to it with scotch tape hoping it sticks. BTW, if by your own reasoning most Wiki readers don't even like wrestling, they wouldn't know (or care) who Rehwoldt is no matter what the name of the article was. As I said, you're just looking for any excuse to cling on to the WWE name, and this isn't the first article we've gone round and round on (Cesaro-->Claudio Castagnioli, Bubba Ray Dudley-->Bully Ray). Now please, stop reverting back to Aiden English. The Common Name thing doesn't wash, and it's becoming apparent that you just want to hang on to the WWE names because you have a WWE bias ("WWE has higher ratings and more Google searches, so they get priority!") No they don't. If someone is no longer with a company, they are no longer bound by anything that company placed upon them. By your way of thinking, we should still call Caitlyn Jenner "Bruce". - WP:COMMONNAME. " prefers the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable English-language sources) as such names will usually best fit the five criteria listed above". Commonname it's not about William -> Will, it also includes stage names, like Bono (example) or pro wrestler ring names. You can also read WP:STAGENAME "The name used most often to refer to a person in reliable sources is generally the one that should be used as the article title". And yes, numbers are important and relevant. And not, I'm not biased towards WWE, but you can negate that WWE isn't the largest pro wrestling company in the world. Support He's not been Aiden English for how many years now? It's the name he's currently using, he's not likely going back to Aiden English at any point in the near future, regardless of WWE's viewership, he's currently most known as Matthew Rehwoldt. "Most viewership" seems like a fallacy to me. He's not currently in WWE so current ratings are irrelevant. Calling him Aiden English is dated. SkylerLovefist (talk) 22:28, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
