Albert Marshall "Smiler" is my great-grandfather. I live in Australia, and search the net often for updates on my grandfather to hand onto his great-great-grandchildren. All information on granddad or clippings from his funeral would be appreciated.

Tracey Smith (Australia)

Hi - my name is Corinne, I live near Manchester, UK. I am Smiler Marshall's granddaughter, and Steve's daughter. I have a complete clippings file and pictures of Grandad's funeral. CorinneMoore 20:32, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Nice, but have you also got pictures from him alive for me, please? Extremely sexy 22:03, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Check out the recent book THE LAST POST By MAX ARTHUR ISBN 0-297-84644-2

There is a whole chapter in there containing Albert's memories from growing up to going into the army. It also contains the same accounts from: Alfred Anderson, Albert Smiler Marshall, Henry Allingham, Cecil Withers, Alfred Finningan, Fred Lloyd, Harry Patch, William Roberts, Tom Kirk, Harold Lawton, George Rice, George Charles, Charles Watson, John Oborne, Kenneth Cummins, Nicholas Swarbrick, Ted Rayns, William Elder, George Hardy, Bert Clark and Bill Stone,

Hope this helps
