Picture?

[edit]

What's the story with updating the picture? On July 25th, 2008 (today) there has been many edits to the profile picture, yet none seem to work. What is the issue preventing a new picture? Noahsachs (talk) 03:08, 26 July 2008 (UTC) Ok there is a new picture with Alex covering his mouth... is that the best picture avaiable?Noahsachs (talk) 03:10, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

On Today's Diggnation he mentioned he didn't like his photo on wikipedia is why there have been so many edits. 66.141.253.198 (talk) 04:34, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Born and raised

[edit]

I was under the impression that Alex was born and raised in Vienna, Virginia and moved to LA later in life. He has mentioned his family in Virginia on Diggnation many times, and has said his dad is involved in the Federal Government.

I agree that he has mentioned many times about a portion of his youth in Virginia. Francis Burdett 22:37, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

His dad is actually Dr. Mark Albrecht, the president of the ILS space association. He mentions that near the end in Diggnation episode #57 from 2006-08-03. I would add that to the article, but I have no clue about mother/[brothers|sisters] so I thought this is a good place to stick that. 21:40, 16 August 2006 (IST)

I just read this, and then saw on Alex's Mo-blog site (not current) That his sister must be some kind of journalist, and her name is Olivia. http://alexalbrecht.textamerica.com/?r=4212847 I don't know if family info is something generally put in wikipedia articles. But I saw the above post, and thought I'd add on.

I wonder who keeps coming in and changing his profile's birthplace from Vienna, Virginia to Los Angeles, CA? He has said, himself, on numerous occasions, that he is from Vienna, VA not L.A. D. Blizzard (talk) 08:01, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I do think that we should make mention that he is a self professed boob man but episode 202 was not the first time this was mentioned. Please stop making rash changes to alex and kevin's pages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.243.132.113 (talk) 09:22, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Per his own podcast on 26 Feb 2018, Albrecht was born in Beverly Hills, and moved to Virginia as a high schooler. Erzeszut (talk) 13:34, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dell Commercials?

[edit]

The article says that Albrecht is currently appearing in Dell commercials but I haven't seen him in those commercials for a while. Can someone confirm that he is still doing commercials for Dell and if he is not change the article to reflect that. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Culled (talkcontribs) 21:50, 29 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Alefox

[edit]

I think the Alefox story does not deserve to take up so much space of the article and the weblink section as it currently does. It was a funny story for the two episodes in which it was mentioned. But since this "skin" for Firefox was not developed by Alex Albrecht himself, this is definitely not a major thing in Alex's life (probably more so in the life of the person who created it). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.174.82.170 (talk) 17:23, 7 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Isn't Diggnation at this point bigger than Screen Savers?

[edit]

Doesn't Rev3 tout that they get way better ratings than techtv ever did? So wouldn't he mainly be known for diggnation instead of Screen Savers.

I dunno. You're comparing two different mediums, so it would be hard to judge. Personally, I would think that Screen Savers would be bigger. But, in terms of Alex, Diggnation is bigger, because he is a major part of that show, while he was only on the Screen Savers for a short amount of time. When talking about Alex, Diggnation is bigger. So, should we change Alex Albrecht's picture?

[edit]

So, should we? He asked in the most recent Diggnation here. Moocow (talk) 03:48, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Only if it's free. Otherwise, the image will be removed. Gary King (talk) 03:54, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The picture has been changed. The one currently (as of me typing this) isn't the one Alex was referring to in show #160. As Gary said though, if you'd like to change that one, feel free. However, the image must be free or else it will be removed. --Brownings (talk) 12:18, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You know what I mean

[edit]

Maybe a little paragraph on Alex's quirk on ending every second sentence with "You know what I mean"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.232.187.220 (talk) 20:10, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Job

[edit]

Is there any information about what is his day job is. Or am I to expect that because his father is wealthy, he is living off his parent's money (I hope not) ? 67.187.105.173 (talk) 07:34, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notablity

It's hard to find any independent and reliable secondary sources that have more than a trivial mention of Alex Albrecht, but I found a few that might meet WP:THREESOURCES and figured I would rop them here. TipsyElephant (talk) 13:33, 25 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
