Old talk

[edit]

There can be something of real value in this article, if someone will take the time to get over the adulatory tone, strive for clarity, and document. (Not by personal websites). Pokryshkin was a significant figure in military aviation, an iconoclast of sorts in a regimented society that never got over its individualistic origins (for egotistical reasons, however). The article thus far has all the faults of hero-worship that are so present in those of American, German, and British aces. The truth is beyond that and so much more fascinating. Pokryshkin was not "innovative" as claimed here, but a realist and shrewd observer of aerial tactics.--Buckboard 00:09, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

contradictions to Pokryshkin memories

[edit]

In his book "Nebo voyny" Pokryshkin explicitly admits:

  1. usage of "King Cobra"
  2. Conversion to LA-5 and later to LA-5FN
  3. Conversion to LA-7

Participating (while rare) in combats even in 1945, despite existing prohibition. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.178.230.130 (talk) 12:48, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can a capture from the 1945 Moscow Victory Parade film be included, in which he appears as the banner bearer for the 1st Ukrainian Front? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.207.223.167 (talk) 02:55, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Included an existing one from Commons, but it can be a better frame from the color version footage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.207.223.34 (talk) 01:19, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
