FAC: October 28, 2006[edit]

I have renominated the article for FAC and archived the previous nomination. It looks like it has been cleaned up quite a bit and looks ready for FAC status. PF4Eva 23:20, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Noncompliant[edit]

What would have to be done to the article to make it compliant without stripping it down to the bone or screwing it up royally? I think to help maintain the NPOV, any reference of the " Golden Age" of the show should be converted into references to the first generation of the show. However, you can still call them the old All That and the new All That. Does that sound good, or not? 68.97.47.88 21:34, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the heading from "Golden Age of All That" to "First Generation of All That" to reflect NPOV. Let me know if my edit was unnecessary. Thanks! 68.97.47.88 22:21, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TMC1982[edit]

As I mentioned on your talk page a while back, it is preferable to make one large edit than 20 minors in a row. CaptHayfever 16:39, 3 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'll edit in a fashion that I'll find the most suitable (shouldn't you have bigger things to worry about). You should be glad that I care about perfection! User:TMC1982

It's a courtesy to your fellow editors to keep the revision history easy to follow. (And on a side note, people can figure out that the "Cast members" section of an article about All That means "All That cast members") CaptHayfever 03:38, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

POV Tag[edit]

To whomever added the POV tag, will you please explain you're reasoning behind this? Many of the opinions about All That can be easily found in the external links section down below. User:TMC1982

Until I get a proper explaination behind why the POV tag is there, I'm going to remove it.User:TMC1982

You're kidding, right? This article is a fanboy feeding frenzy. The explanations of the seasons after the "Golden Age" (A POV statement in itself) ended are just insult after insult. I'll admit that they were very, very bad, but the article offers almost no solid information about it other than your opinions. Just because you put "Most fans believe" or "Some think" before a statement, that doesn't mean it's automatically free from any criticism. I'm readding the tag.--Agent Aquamarine 05:22, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jump The Shark Page[edit]

Will you please stop removing the link to the All That page on http://www.jumptheshark.com! I want as many opinions on All That included as I can possibly find.User:TMC1982

is it running or not?[edit]

I'm the anon that added a cite needed tag to "All That is an" because I simply couldn't determine if it is running or not running. I just randomly came to this page, never having heard of All That, and saw a contradiction with the "is" and the tense used later in the sentence, together with the cancellation section below. My guess would be that it is not running now, but maybe reruns are showing somewhere? Anyway I've since added two references, one to the imdb entry, another to the soundtrack listing. I've also commented out two inline links after the urban legend paragraph. I followed both links but they yield nothing resembling to citation. -213.219.161.27 00:40, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing Sentence[edit]

I changed "Schneider was supposedly absent from the 100th episode special while and Kopelow was supposedly absent from the 10th anniversery special." to "Schneider was supposedly absent from the 100th episode special, and Kopelow was supposedly absent from the 10th anniversery special." I think that makes more sense, but not sure it's what the original intentions were. Correct me if I'm wrong. Kushboy 05:58, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template?[edit]

I have added other Nickelodeon spin-off shows to the "See also" section. Do you think this might be the time for a template? Please reply. - LBM 21:14, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cast[edit]

Should the cast members be ordered by debut year as well as alphabetical?

I would say keep it alphabetical on this page. For people who want to see a chronological order, List of All That characters is indexed that way, as well as the Wikiquote page. CaptHayfever 17:29, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This oath doesnt warrant its own article in my opinion. Without evidence that the oath is in common use, it looks like the article fails WP:MEME. Is it notable enough that it should be part of this article? Jayvdb 21:56, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You got me; I've never even heard of it. Sounds more like something from a sketch than an actual oath. CaptHayfever 00:07, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
UPDATE - Actually, I checked the reference link on the oath article, and that's just some fansite club thing; it has no connection to the show whatsoever. Drop it like an anvil. CaptHayfever 03:48, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Original Research[edit]

I just did a major update to get rid of all of the unverifiable claims, and kept the ones that can be varified. It might help to cite sources, but I'll do that later unless someone else does it.

Very awesome, man. I've been wanting to clean this thing up for a while, but could never find enough time. Great work. CaptHayfever 04:17, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just did another update, but I'm not quite finished yet. I left off on citing sources for the section on Kevin returning had the show come back for an 11th season. But it's looking good so far.68.97.47.88 23:34, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still updating, but I am having trouble getting rid of all the A's and B's, etc., in the References section and it's driving me up the wall! Can somebody please help? I am changing the refnames to death and not even that works! Thanks for any help you can give me.68.97.47.88 21:16, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's the best I could do to clean this article up a bit. Stil don't know why I have A's and B's in the references; I have all the references unique names, even though it was pretty tough to think of names that weren't already occupied. But I think overall I did a pretty good job. I fixed the NPOV, the facts, and fixed the footnotes (to the best of my ability). I hope that helps. 68.97.47.88 22:29, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You should've at least let someone else take a look at the article before you removed the POV tag. It's slightly better, but still bad. I mean, most of the references are posts from fan forums. Rereadding the tag.--Agent Aquamarine 02:07, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. Anyway, I've removed some claims that were only backed up by IMDb and fan sites and stuff that couldn't be verified. I saved them to my computer just in case any of it is ever verified by a reliable source (you never know). 68.97.47.88 00:27, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Looks great now. It just needs a bit of cleanup, which I'll probably take care of when I get home today, and we should be able to remove the tag. --Agent Aquamarine 12:51, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The tag is still up, so in addition to removing the section on the return of Good Burger, I also added a source for the claim that Action League Now originated on All That, which it did. I also decided to remove the claim that Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide used Channel 6 and a Half in its episodes, since I've never seen it mentioned on the show, although I don't watch it very often. It's deleted until somebody confirms it. 68.97.47.88 21:47, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't sure where to put this, but I assume this place is as good as any. I have had a book out for a few months now available on booklocker.com, All That About All That. Together with Alisa Reyes, I have interviewed numerous members of the cast and crew and put it out in a fairly short booklet. Anyway, would it be right to include a section on the page mentioning this? Just wanted to get some other opinions, but it seemed appropriate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Clavinbot (talkcontribs) 23:53, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Off the Air Period[edit]

I think All That already is off the air period because no episodes have aired (including reruns) since about May or June. I know there have been Nicktoons (Jimmy Timmy Power Hour 3) and movies (What a Girl Wants) in its place.

Return of Good Burger[edit]

I deleted the section on the return of Good Burger until further notice. That will help make the article a little bit shorter, and I wasn't sure how notable it was. I mean, if the recent discovery of the complete unused footage from John Carpenter's Halloween isn't notable enough to be included in the Halloween (1978 film) article, then Good Burger's return probably isn't notable enough for this article. 68.97.47.88 21:32, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good Burger is arguably the most recognizable and/or popular sketch in All That history (they did after all, turn it into a full-length movie). The fact that they tried to revive the with somebody else in the lead role instead of Kel Mitchell (as the same character mind you), should be noticable. TMC1982 2006 4 September (UTC)

Okay, wasn't exactly sure. I didn't want to change anything without saying anything on here about it. By the way, I had a great edit planned for this aticle yesterday to settle the accuracy disputes and NPOV disputes, but it looks like editing is restricted now. I'm sorry if my editing this article has caused any trouble, but I was trying to prevent this kind of thing (or worse, deletion) from happening. Good luck getting everything fixed. 68.97.47.88 23:19, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And so, beaten, torn, and with many paper cuts...[edit]

I have reduced the references, removing the trivial ones that I could find and grouping redunant ones. And whose idea was it to give the refs nasty names like "They just hired Spears because she was Britney's sister and she destroyed the show"? GAHHHHHHHH!!!! ~ Porphyric Hemophiliac § 05:22, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry, I have nominated this article for peer review to see what can be improved. And I also changed that the first episode of the "New" All That prenmiered in 2002, and changed it to 2001; that was my mistake. Season 7 was in 2001, and Jamie Lynn Spears joined the next season, which was in 2002. I'm sorry for the error. PF4Eva

The seventh season of All That premiered in January 2002. So technically, it premiered in the mid-way point of the 2001-2002 television season. So I guess that's why there's the confusion. TMC1982 2 October 2006 (UTC)

September 23, 2006 revision[edit]

I have revised the article quite a bit today, and I think it looks better than it did, but still needs some improvements, especially sourcing. I think I took care of NPOV issues pretty well. Let me know what you think here or by replying to the All That peer review page. (Edit: I'm sorry, I forgot to sign my name.) PF4Eva 20:38, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Most recent edit(s)[edit]

I have just completed another round of tough editing. There are just too many claims that can't be verified and too many POV issues. I might need help in cleaning this article up a bit.

Reference?[edit]

How do we know Ashton Kutcher had any relation to All That? I can't find the information anywhere else on the internet.

I have seen nearly every episode (and I have seen every single episode from 1994-2000, and Ashton Kutcher was never a castmember. I don't know where this information came from. It needs to be removed from this article until actually confirmed by a reliable source. PF4Eva 00:00, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Major revision: October 31, 2006[edit]

In my attempt to clean up this article, I have deleted as many unsourced statements as I could find, and even deleted a few sections/statements as per WP:NOR. I will next incorporate the trvia and lists into the article; adequately source statements; get rid of forum/fan sources unless reliable (example: the Lisa Foiles Yahoo! page announcing the cancellation); and formatting the article as per WikiProject Television. I'm trying to get this up to GA status, and then if I play my cards right, FA status. It's about time this article gets what it deserves. PF4Eva 00:11, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not finished yet with my revision. I just have to fix some of the sources to make them more adequate, and then format it as per Wikipedia: WikiProject Television. It's coming out great so far, in my opinion. PF4Eva 01:06, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just did what may be my last edit. I think I've cleaned the page up enough to nominate it for Good Article. Then if that works, I'll try renominating it for FA. I think I finally hit the jackpot this time. PF4Eva 23:38, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DVD releases?[edit]

YouTube links[edit]

This article is one of thousands on Wikipedia that have a link to YouTube in it. Based on the External links policy, most of these should probably be removed. I'm putting this message here, on this talk page, to request the regular editors take a look at the link and make sure it doesn't violate policy. In short: 1. 99% of the time YouTube should not be used as a source. 2. We must not link to material that violates someones copyright. If you are not sure if the link on this article should be removed, feel free to ask me on my talk page and I'll review it personally. Thanks. ---J.S (t|c) 04:25, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Taken care of. Thank you for your concern. Man, I never knew copyright was so hard to come by. PF4Eva 00:07, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You mean that just because the person uploading these YouTube videos is associated with Dan Schneider, the copyright holder, the videos still violate copyright? How is that possible? They have his permission to upload the videos, right? Can somebody please explain this? Thanks. Race?[edit]

This page previously said: "Bryan Hearne and Giovonnie Samuels were the only African American cast members at the start of this relaunch."

I don't feel that race of the cast members has anything to do with the show. If anyone feels differently, please feel free to talk.

Good Article review[edit]

My first inclination is to fail this article for GA status, but in the interest of fairness (since the wait for a new review would be lengthy), I'm going to put this on hold for 7 days. The following are my suggestions (some minor, some not-so-minor):

  1. Image layout - at least on my browser, some of the images are covering article text, particularly in the smaller sections. Consider either changing the placement of some of the images, or simply removing some. Frankly my suggestion would be the latter - this article isn't so large that the amount of images you have is necessary.
  2. Image captions - When including cast images, it's standard to identify everyone in the picture. Since some of the images are so small, this may not be practical. Therefore my suggestion is to choose one or two cast photos (preferably with the most well-known people) and caption those, then get rid of the others.
  3. Make sure every image used has a fair use rationale provided. Image:I37897777 99207.jpg could be problematic, as it appears to be a combination of screen shots and copyrighted publicity photos.
  4. See WP:MOS for the proper way to capitalize section headings.
  5. Per WP:LEAD, your opening paragraphs should provide a concise summary of the article. But the 3rd paragraph contains information on spinoffs that isn't referenced anywhere in the main article. In addition, the lead makes no mention of the show's popularity or cultural impact. It was on for 10 years, so I assume it was popular. The lead also makes no mention of when the show was canceled.
  6. Reading the article, I got no sense of the actual style of the show, or of its sketches. What kind of humor was it? Was it all original material, or did they do some parodies? Did the style of humor change over time? Consider creating a "Format" section and including information about the opening, sketches, and musical acts. Currently this information seems to be sprinkled throughout the article.
  7. Don't assume anyone reading the article is familiar with the most well-known sketches. Good Burger is mentioned multiple times, but is never once described. You don't have to go in-depth, but a few sentences would be helpful. Similarly, there's an entire paragraph about the return of Vital Information, but it's not introduced anywhere else in the article.
  8. Move the soundtrack section near the bottom of the article. The fact that it was released in 1996 doesn't mean it has to go in the middle of the article, as it interrupts the flow.
  9. Whenever possible, try to avoid single sentences standing on their own. Try to incorporate them into other paragraphs.

Hope this helps. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 17:44, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do what I can. I have moved the soundtrack to the end of the article. I am currently writing better captions and providing fair use rationale for each image. I might get remove the image of Amanda Bynes as Ashley, because it might just be taking up space. Thanks for your concern. PF4Eva 23:34, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have been editing all day, and I like the looks of it so far. I have added a Format section with a Notable sketches subsection. I will probably add more sketches to it, including Ask Ashley, Repairman, 2gether 4ever, Tilt a Hurl, and Know Your Stars. I guess this section was a good idea after all, because the sketches weren't described anywhere else in the article. But I hope to get this article polished off once and for all by the end of the seven days. PF4Eva 00:17, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have completed my enxtensive edits, and I feel that the article is ready to be voted as a Good Article. What do you think? PF4Eva 23:01, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • A definite improvement. A few thoughts:
  1. I like the Format section. Consider moving it closer to the top, before you go into the show history.
  2. In the Format section, you mention that the later seasons relied more on gross-out humor, but also state that one of the teen-oriented jokes shows someone eating their own dandruff. I would consider that gross-out humor.
  3. Did the return of Vital Information occur during the 10th anniversary? It's not made very clear. If not, it shouldn't go in that section.
  4. Some stats backing up the popularity of the show would be great (ratings, articles proclaiming its popularity). You have the viewership figures for the 10th anniversary, which is great.
  5. Make sure to use the proper tense when stating things. For instance, the article says "All That would debut as a weekly series on December 24, 1994." If it happened in the past, it should say "All That debuted as a weekly series on December 24, 1994." There are other instances of this. Basically, if something already happened, state it that way. Don't use terms like "would do this."
  6. In the castmembers section, date ranges should be formatted with an en dash. Instead of 1994-97, it should be 1994–97.

I think once these things are addressed, you will have a Good Article on your hands. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 21:29, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That didn't take me too long. How does it look now, is it ready to pass as a GA? PF4Eva 23:41, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I feel what the only major section that this article is missing is one on "cultural impact." Besides the history, format and cast, there needs to be this section in an article about a television show. Otherwise, well done with the recent edits. -- Wikipedical 04:23, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • I feel that with the most recent edits, this article has been brought up to Good Article standards so I have passed it. As for the suggestion by Wikipedical - I'm not certain that this show has had much of a cultural impact (not all TV shows do). In any case, congrats! --cholmes75 (chit chat) 16:29, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FAC: December 2006[edit]

I had to remove a few things that were taking up space, and this included things like unnecassary templates, large templates, long lists, etc. I think I have finally gotten this page up to FA status. Just wanted you to know why many things were deleted. Let's hope my nomination works for once. PF4Eva

  • That was my complaint about the All That template, which was showing up on every page that remotely mentioned All That, but everyone else at the deletion discussion that I initiated said no, it's good to have everything on every page. Well, if it's good, then I figured I should go ahead and do the same myself, until everyone realized that it's not so good once you look at it.--Largo Plazo 04:36, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spin-offs[edit]

Why are Zoey 101 and Just Jordan listed as All That spin-offs? They merely contain actors who appeared on All That before getting their own shows. Spin-offs imply the character leaves and gets their own show playing the same characters, which these two do not do. Zoey would have to have been a character on All That for it to properly qualify as a spin-off. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.224.243.78 (talk) 18:49, 17 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

It actually is subjective. But it is my opinion that both shows qualify as spin-offs in that:

  1. they star former All That cast members.
  2. the shows are produced by Nickelodeon.
  3. the shows are written, produced, directed, etc., by the same people who did so on All That.

I did not include What I Like About You because it was produced by the WB Network instead of Nickelodeon. I feel that as long as it stars a current or former All That cast member, is produced by the All That producers, and is a Nickelodeon show, it is a spin-off. Besides, if Zoey 101 and Just Jordan are not spin-offs, neither are Kenan and Kel or The Amanda Show or The Nick Cannon Show. PF4Eva 21:43, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, by that definition, The Nick Cannon Show is still a spin-off; Cannon kept his character "LaTanya" from All That in his show. CaptHayfever 22:51, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Info refusing to write to page[edit]

I am trying to add info on season 6. Though it is still included in the source box, any info I add will not write to the page. It acts as if no info was written at all or like I wrote it with hidden tags. This Season 6 information is crucial to the article, and I can't even have it show up on the page, it skips parts, and the article really isn't that long. I don't know what to do. I'm trying for FA consideration, and information is getting cutt off inexplicably. Can somebody please help? Thanks. PF4Eva 23:55, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Right now, I am troubleshooting to see what the problem is, so far no luck. This IS NOT vandalism. I will revert it if/when I find out what the problem is. This is driving me nuts, as the information I am trying in vain to add is crucial to the article. This information will be required when it becomes a FA. PF4Eva 00:06, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FAC[edit]

The lead section is not as bad as some I've been reading today. I can see you're trying. I don't think it's going to make it this time around though.

  • "The theme song for All That was performed by TLC."
"The theme song for All That was performed by the American R&B group, TLC."
  • "The show first aired on April 16, 1994 as a "special preview" and debuted as a regular series on December 24, 1994.[2] All That originally featured mainly young adults, but from Season 7 onward, it made a big switch to feature only preteens."
Was there some reason for this big switch?
  • "The show was very popular during its run.[3] In fact, some of the cast members got their own spin-off shows"
Not particularly compelling prose, imo. "The show maintained high popularity during its 7 years on Nickleodian" or whatever. There's no problem with simple sentences, but these are almost sterile, they're so simple. I will look over the whole article, and post my opinion. However, as it has been under FAC a number of times without passing, if it doesn't pass this time, I will personally work with the editors to get it to FA quality--so stick with it. This may take time, though. KP Botany 00:37, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Restructuring[edit]

I always thought the problem with this article was the treatment of each season as a separate article within the main article. I consolidated everything under broadcast history. Any thoughts? User:Aaronhumes--206.27.244.59 00:37, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA sweep (delist)[edit]

In order to uphold the quality of Wikipedia:Good articles, all articles listed as Good articles are being reviewed against the GA criteria as part of the GA project quality task force. While all the hard work that has gone into this article is appreciated, unfortunately, as of December 6, 2007, this article fails to satisfy the criteria, as detailed below. For that reason, the article has been delisted from WP:GA. However, if improvements are made bringing the article up to standards, the article may be nominated at WP:GAN. If you feel this decision has been made in error, you may seek remediation at WP:GAR.

Reasons for delisting (numbers refer to the relevant GA criteria)

  • 1. Well-written: Presumably due to its long tenure on Wikipedia and additions made since the original GA review, the article prose is patchy and would benefit from a copyedit in places. The Notable sketches... sections might be best split off into separate articles (or at least severely trimmed down). There are also a few minor WP:MoS issues.
  • 2. Factually accurate and verifiable: Since the article was assessed in 2006, GA criteria have been significantly altered; especially with regard to referencing requirements. Although All That is reasonably well-cited in parts, it also has quite a few large sections that are completely unreferenced (for example, Format, Notable sketches..., Temporary Cancellation etc.
  • 4. Neutral: There are a few sentences that come over as commentary (perhaps due to lack of sourcing), for example "the screen fades to black in a dramatic yet subtle ending to the 10 year tribute." If the show has been reviewed (which I'm guessing it must have been given the length of time it was running), a Criticism section may be a nice addition.

Given the amount of work required to bring this article up to current GA standards, I don't believe this can be achieved in the short term. Please feel free to leave any questions regarding this assessment on my talk page. Regards, EyeSereneTALK 22:46, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Syndication Section[edit]

I would like to ask, what is going on with the syndication section of this article? With all due respect, it is turning into a mess, and does not cite any sources when it comes to the time that Seasons 1, 2, 6, and 7-10 will air and seems to change on a daily, or weekly, basis, and I simply request that people cite their sources when they edit because it has become very hard to read and confusing. 11th Season?[edit]

Is this true? And is there a source(I know it says Dan Schneider himself confirmed it, but I'd like some type of link if this was confirmed in some type of online interview or anything)??? I'd just like to know where all of this is coming from or if this is nothing but something fanmade. Crockhun (talk) 16:46, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Im really truly sorry, but even if Dan did confirm it, im not sure All That is returning. Didn't you look at lisa's message; all thats come to an end. dont get me wrong, i really really really want All That back for a new season, but just think about it, a cancelled series thats just gonna air in 2009. that sounds ridiculous. But if theres a reference, then im totally pleased. But, me and Christina Kirkman are friends, and we were PMing each other last week, and I asked here is there are plans for an 11th Season. This is what she send to me:

yeahh iknoww
unfortuanly not because every1 was getting old and their contracts had ended and my producer wanted to end the show on a good note...after we won best tv show at the kids choice award

— Christina Kirkman

Im terribly sorry. no season 11 is coming. (not unless we give The N popular demand)--Wikialexdx (talk) 03:19, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i just deleted another BS article on an 11th season. I think its the same person doing this. Unless he adds a source for this, delete it so that it doesnt get peoples hopes up or anything. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.165.249.105 (talk) 18:52, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hey guys red alert again about the so called "11th season". it says in the end of the n section that it will be coming back with new and old skits or something like that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.210.140.10 (talk) 22:10, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well if you could find an actual source for that then it would be cool if you added it in the article but if you dont find any then I think its BS. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.165.249.105 (talk) 00:16, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I agree with everyone, I really think this isn't true. I mean there WAS a source awhile back linking to some "pilot"(on TV.com or some place like that), but it said NOTHING about it airing, no further episodes, and that might not even be true. And there are claims that Dan confirmed it, but that may not even be true. And its been cancelled for about three years, it coming back now would be too odd, so I think this is nothing but someone trying to edit a bunch of false info into the article. Crockhun (talk) 00:30, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If we really want All That to have a season 11, then we would have to keep sending popular demand emails to viacom.com and beg for them to get the show back for a season 11, or just for reruns on Nickeloden. it could work:[1] --Wikialexdx (talk) 01:26, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted all references to an 11th season until a source has been confirmed. After reviewing this talk page, it looks like this has been a problem for months.Rakinyeye (talk) 22:27, 26 December 2008 (UTC) Here's a source! There's a youtuber named JB17Wagna who's making a pilot of his own version of "All That" and he also wants "All That" back on Nickelodeon. The YouTube pilot of "All That" will air on YouTube March 24,2011. If it gets 500,000 viewers watching it, or more people, depending on how good it is, and if Dan Schneider and Nick Cannon likes the pilot, you could see "All That" on television again in the near future. Here's the link of JB17Wagna's YouTube Channel:http://www.youtube.com/user/JB17Wagna If you want to know more about that, and if you have a YouTube Channel, go check him out and ask him about that.64.53.133.102 (talk) 15:02, 26 February 2011 (UTC)Elie Muller[reply]

Is there an actual source on this because if there isnt, then its probably BS. I hope it is true because then i could see All That and Kenan and Kel when i get home from school. Upcoming Seasons[edit]

Are these seasons (1,2,6,best of,7,8,9,10) actually coming soon, because they have just been playing the same season 3-5 episodes over and over again. does anyone have any proof that they are coming soon? Also, does anyone know why they dont play all of the season 3-5 episodes? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.210.155.53 (talk) 12:20, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unless they have a source(one thing I often complain about when it comes to the syndication area of this article), I really don't think we know anything, and people keep spreading false news about whats going to air on the N all over the article.Crockhun (talk) 18:01, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay once again I'll ask is there any source that the other seasons are gonna start airing on Monday? Crockhun (talk) 17:38, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, although I still don't know where the confirmation of the other Seasons are(and hope someone can point it out to me), I checked my digital guide on the TV and Season 6 WILL start airing on Monday, according to that. Crockhun (talk) 20:08, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Season 5[edit]

I looked on my TV guide, and I saw, instead of All That going directly into season 8, it starts going into season 5 (again) Whats up with that?

I looked on my TV Guide and it said the exact same thing. If this turns out to be true, one thing I fear is that they've only chosen to add Seasons 6 and 7 to the line up, for now, anyway. The odd part to me is why they didn't go back to Season 3, unless The N just wants to air three seasons at a time...Crockhun (talk) 13:20, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a little update: Yup, it went back into Season 5. Not sure whats gonna happen now, if this is only temporary, or if they've cut Seasons 3 and 4, or what. Crockhun (talk) 21:36, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rerun or Syncdiation?[edit]

Ok i noticed that User:Mrschimpf has changed the Rerun section, but thats ok, but i want to know whats the diffrence between Syncdication and rerun? --Wikialexdx (talk) 22:19, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Syndication is where reruns are being broadcasted on another channel, one that wasn't its original channel. The term reruns would still be used, but probably as something like "reruns are being syndicated on (whatever channel). Say if All That was still being aired on Nickelodeon, it would not be called syndication, but still reruns, because Nickelodeon was its original channel, but The N is not. I think Syndication would be a better term for the section, quite honestly, but thats just me. Crockhun (talk) 02:47, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episodes[edit]

I changed the episodes that are playing list to only a * on season 5, because technically that's the one that's playing right now. I will take the responsibility to change it whenever there's a different season on, it's just I feel it makes more sense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.224.94.122 (talk) 21:29, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Extremely Confused[edit]

Ok so i know we all thought that All That is going to keep going for a long time, and keep airing seasons not played in syndication before. Well I checked on my guide on my TV and it just replaces it with Zoey 101, and Unfabulous. Also I don't see Kenan and Kel either. But my main confusion is that it says on The-N.com's guide that it'll be playing at the regular times. What is up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.210.129.116 (talk) 19:35, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I could be wrong, but I don't think they are gone just yet. The N, for the past week or so, has been whacky with their schedule. Out of the blue, Saved by The Bell(another show syndicated on The N) wasn't on at all last week although their website's schedule said it would be, and this week its back in an entirely new timeslot. Unless they've decided to remove All That and Kenan and Kel from The N entirely, we may see them return sometime unexpectedly next week or maybe even before. Its pretty much a wait-and-see situation right now. Crockhun (talk) 18:54, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've been going to this article occassionally over the past few months....and I have seen so many different stories on it, its crazy. I complained back in the Summer about the crazy rumors about the Seasons coming on the N, and now I am complaining about how there have been so many crazy stories about it returning in Feburary on The N. I know articles are gonna get hacked, but is there ANY proof? Any at all? Its my personal opinion that this whirlwind needs to stop. Crockhun (talk) 05:20, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inquiry about removing "Avatar: The Last Airbender' from the Related Shows[edit]

For some reason, 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' is a related show to "All That", when in reality, it shouldn't be. I think back in the day, this was added on because one of the former cast members voiced Sokka on The Last Airbender, but.. again, in reality, the show shouldn't even be in the related slot, as it isn't related to Sketch Comedy at all.

So.. thoughts on this? -- »»»DavidTwo2012«««  16:37, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I, of course, agree which is why I removed it from the list. Common cast is never a reason for having shows listed as related. Geraldo Perez (talk) 16:48, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In response to User:Cyphoidbomb[edit]

As far as I can tell, the "All That" machine (which I did not create) refers to a long wave of actors and actresses that spun off into other shows where they had a more prominent role, all the way through Sam and Cat last year. Amanda Bynes was the first person who went that route after appearing on All That, when she started hosting the Amanda Show in 1999. While Nancy Sullivan is not nearly as prominent as Drake & Josh themselves, she was an important sketch player on the Amanda Show and played Drake & Megan's mom/Josh's step-mom, Audrey, on Drake & Josh. --Thebirdlover (talk) 22:13, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mass Edit[edit]

I'm completing a mass edit, as I write this, to clean up this page. To start most of the links are dead, that will need to be investigated. Water78 (talk) 21:47, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've finished the first round of edits to the page. The individual season sections need to be further looked at. The changes I made.

1. The most controversial, for some reason, edit I made was eliminating The All That Machine. I reverted it to just the direct spinoffs that show created. Kenan, Amanda Show etc. If you do not agree with my changes in this section then please explain.

2. I removed the section that explained the title sequences.

3. I edited the main summary to be more precise. I removed the ending bit about SNICK. I found that to be unnecessary fact. I added general info about the first cancellation, relaunch and the anniversary.

4. I moved up the crew so it is now under the cast. I also added a citation needed.

5. I moved episodes section up.

6. Created the new Production header.

7. Created a new impact header and placed the awards section in it.

8. Created In other media section. Water78 (talk) 22:51, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

- I've completed my second round of mass edits to clean up this page. 1. I moved the sections around to what I believe flowed the best for a reader.

2. I've completely removed the creative process and format sections and placed the information they provided in the in the series history section.

3. I wrote out a new detailed series history based off information I found in a myspace sponsored oral history of the beginning of the show and Dan's own blog. There's a lack of information on why the show was cancelled in 2000 and why is was subsequently relaunched two years later. I did my best to work around the fan's point of view info and directly addressed what occurred in the later years. Although the second cancellation comes off as quite abrupt in my opinion. Also included are four photos:two of where the show was filmed, one of the original cast and a promo card for the r u all that contest.

4. I removed all the separate sections for each season season. These were completely unnecessary and after reading them over were all opinion based. The later seasons in particular were bad. A lot of "some fans did not like" or "some people did not like".

5. I created a new section that addresses Specials. I included the 100th episode and the 10th Anniversary. The information shown there is from the original separate season sections. I didn't edit the info for there.

6. I added the Kenan and Kel title card in the spinoffs for show.

7. In other media I created the good burger subhead and added the picture for show.

I believe at this point a discussion should be made as to whether this page conforms to a higher standard of quality, and neutral in tone.

What needs to be accomplished in this page's third round of mass edits: 1. Sources are needed to confirm the Directors and Writers.

2. Individual season pages need to be cleaned up

3. Reruns/Syndication section needs to be revised.

4. Impact section needs to be revised. Where's the impact?

5. Grammar issues.

The 2017 proposal to merge All That Live! to here seems very reasonable; that single episode has no evidence for independent notability. Klbrain (talk) 21:57, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Season 11[edit]

Just wanted to make it clear that this is a revival, not a reboot. Those have two different meanings. The new episodes coming out this year will be “Season 11”, not a entirely new series. HurricaneGeek2002 (talk) 00:43, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I agree, even according to show fax they are using 11?? production codes. [2]. Although I know there will be edits who have been on here for awhile that will be arguing to split the article due to the time Gaps. However the same thing happened to rosanna when it ended and then came back, so will see if it gets another article.Frizzpickles (talk) 21:03, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
FTR, I'm not sure I agree with this. It has an almost entirely new cast. I think it's hard to justify calling the "season 11" (and I generally oppose this practice on Wikipedia for series that have been out of production for years/decades as misleading or inaccurate, even though it's prevalent with other TV series in this same situation...), and not calling it "All That (2019 TV series)"... What are independent WP:RS calling it?... Also, pinging @Amaury: to this discussion. --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:28, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@IJBall: This is Double Dare all over again, in which the 2018 version should have its own article, but that's not for here. See this tweet from Nickandmore! whose information is coming from Showfax. Regardless of whether it's a reboot or revival, this the 2019 version should still have its own article. Amaury (talk | contribs) 16:33, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
But Double Dare is a "game show", which have different "rules" for these sort of things. (Basically, game show "revivals" are much more common, and it's not felt like the revivals all need separate articles...) But this isn't a game show, it's a sketch comedy show. So, basically, I agree that putting this at All That (2019 TV series) (which is how IMDb has it) makes much more sense to me, unless independent WP:RSs are consistently calling this "season 11" (which I'd bet they are not...). --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:36, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I know this isn't 100% reliable due to Wikipedia standards for it not being a verified account, but thought it would be worth mentioning. Someone working on the new series (who previously worked on All That from 2000-2004 as a stage manager and second stage manager) is saying it is season 11. Not sure if this would be helpful or not, but just in case, we also have an image of one of the scripts. Magitroopa (talk) 18:41, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
WP:Primary sources. I'm not sure it matters what the production co. calls it – it matters whether secondary sources are treating it as "season 11" or as a new "reboot" series. --IJBall (contribstalk) 19:00, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@IJBall: See also The Futon Critic and Zap2it. Amaury (talk | contribs) 18:44, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing as the last response to this was at the beginning of the month and we now have one aired episode (#2 coming this Saturday), thought it would be best to try and figure this out now that we have more info. First, if anything the decision is to make it a separate article for the 2019 series, I think it would be best to just adjust the current article instead of creating an entirely new thing (Maybe that's how page moving already works on Wikipedia, I just wanted to state that just in case) I've still been thinking this is season 11, but as more has come out, I have been thinking of it as more of a new revival series. However, I'm still not 100% sure. What makes it much harder is that it still seems like all cable providers and site can't seem to figure out what it is either. Cable providers like Spectrum, Optimum, and DIRECTV (and Zap2it) still don't list episode titles, other than saying if it's episode 1, 2, or 3. Futon Critic did finally update with the episode titles, but it just makes it much more confusing- as the production codes do indeed treat it like a new series (101, 102, etc.), yet the episode titles all mark it as an eleventh season ("1101", "1102", etc.) Magitroopa (talk) 15:44, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
After seeing a copy of the official script with eleven production code numbers, I agree with your viewpoint; I think it's better that we include it as Season 11, instead of crafting a completely different page. Try viewing it as like the sixth season or eleventh season of Saturday Night Live: whole new cast and crew, but still the same show. However, there's still confusion about it which may be Nickelodeon's doing. They're probably advertising it as a "new" series so that it doesn't confuse the actual target audience, but producing it like there wasn't a fourteen-year gap between seasons.
Now, you mentioned possibly adjusting the current article for the inclusion of 2019 series content. I'm interested in that idea, too. Do you have any ideas of how you'd like have that be done? I think creating sub-sections (or whatever you may call them) in the Series History section for the 2002 relaunch and 2019 revival was a good first step. Water78 (talk) 21:07, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, update a few months later. Futon Critic recently updated with episodes 7 + 8, but along with that, also updated the production codes for every episode. They are no longer listed as "101", "102", etc, but now match the episode titles as well. Seems like Nickelodeon is officially considering this revival/reboot to be a season 11 now instead of a new series. If all others agree with these seeing FC's updates, I assume we can now keep the page as season 11 instead of a whole new article. Magitroopa (talk) 23:55, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
For the people who think S11 should be split into its separate article, I thought I made it crystal clear that this is a revival, not a reboot. Reboots need their own pages, revivals don't. That, and by that logic, the 2002 revival would end up needing a separate article too, which would be a total mess. HurricaneGeek2002 (talk) 15:13, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Cast List on Main Article[edit]

There were recent edits done that regard the current cast listing on the main article that I'd like to discuss. There are two options, one features the current cast, and the second option is one that features a complete listing of of all cast members (from original, relaunch, and revival). I prefer the one that features just the current cast, and if somebody wants more information then they can visit the separate individual page for that information. Status / Season 12[edit]

On October 27, 2020, Chinguun Sergelen gave an interview with a Mongolian publication, and said that season 12 was planned to start filming in 2021.

Roughly translated using Google:

With the release of [Covid], the last two weeks of work, or two [episodes], have failed, and a total of 34 [episodes] have been filmed, and season 1 is over. I can't wait for season 12 to start filming next year. For me, it was the first big screen art, so everything was new, and I learned a lot from being the first.

This is the Chinguun Sergelen interview that 68.230.53.144 alluded to here. Is this good enough to warrant inclusion? Thanks. PF4Eva (talk) 23:25, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

According to this Collider article announcing the show's upcoming Netflix streaming, All That was renewed for a 12th season, which obviously hasn't started yet due to the covid pandemic. PF4Eva (talk) 04:25, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting... I do have to wonder where they're getting that information from though: The latest news listed on The Futon Critic is from November 2020, and after checking the Nickelodeon PR site, the only press release from January 2021 that mentions All That at all is this, regarding Nickelodeon x NFL: "Play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle will be joined by CBS Sports analyst Nate Burleson and Nick star Gabrielle Nevaeh Green (All That, Nickelodeon’s Unfiltered) in the booth to call the NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon, along with Nick star Lex Lumpkin (All That, Nickelodeon’s Unfiltered) as a reporter." Even if accurate, I'd say it's best to wait & see at this point... If it was indeed renewed in January 2021, it's already been over a year with nothing since then, and nothing regarding the series is included in Nickelodeon's 2022-23 season as of this past March.
Cast members don't speak for the show, so Chinguun's interview can't really be used. Even if cast members' interviews were allowed to be used to source a new season, there's no telling what has/hasn't changed since October 2020. Regarding the season eleven cast members:
  • Ryan Alessi - Honestly not sure, but doesn't appear to have done much with Nick since three episodes of Nickelodeon's Unfiltered aired in January 2021
  • Reece Caddell - Doesn't appear to have done much with Nick since two episodes of Drama Club aired in May 2021
  • Kate Godfrey - Most recently starred in Warped! this past year (no idea if there will be a second season or not)
  • Gabrielle Nevaeh Green - Most recently/currently starring in That Girl Lay Lay, with a second season coming this summer
  • Nathan Janak - No clue at the moment, but also doesn't appear to have done much since starring in Drama Club
  • Lex Lumpkin - Also not sure at the moment, but doesn't appear to have done much since Drama Club and Nickelodeon's Unfiltered
  • Chinguun Sergelen - Don't think much at all since All That, but appears to have done some sort of 'Nick Shorts' this past April Fools' Day ([3])
  • Aria Brooks - If All That were to come back, I (personally) don't believe she would as well: Most recently in Better Nate Than Ever, and will be joining High School Musical: The Musical: The Series in season 3
TL;DR- best to just wait & see at this point in time. Magitroopa (talk) 06:15, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting development: The official All That YouTube, last active a year ago, posted three new YouTube Shorts videos within the past two weeks. Two are stop motion animated[4][5], and the other features kids I've never seen before wearing gum, poop and leaf costumes.[6] This is probably nothing, but it's nevertheless interesting. I don't know if they will do a season 12. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. Cwater1 (talk) 01:02, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
