[edit]Is there a reason for this redirect to Blackwater? Is there any evidence of a connection between American Police Force and Blackwater/Xe? Da Next Pope (talk) 18:46, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Strange Symbol and Website
[edit]I've looked into their website, and it appears so strange, especially the symbol which has no connection to the United States:

Are they a federal entity? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.228.82.232 (talk) 01:06, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
- No, they are not. John Hyams (talk) 03:36, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
- In fact, they just changed/adapted their name/alias to "American Private Police Force," which is no surprise considering their head used 17 aliases. Anyone care to do the honors fixing the title and all other references from the old name to the new name? (That is, APF to APPF as per http://www.americanpolicegroup.com/.) The site plays Maurice Ravel's Boléro as a bonus. Oh, I almost missed this: they changed their logo as well. Kibbitzer (talk) 20:52, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
I just did a Web search for their company name and under the name of their proprietor for evidence of any private patrol operator license in California. It appears definitive that they were never licensed in California. Feel free to check in case I missed it: http://www.bsis.ca.gov/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.141.253.166 (talk) 23:30, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

A Scam
[edit]From what I've been reading, it appears that "American Police Force" is not a mercenary organization at all, but just a scam. This ought to be watched. john k (talk) 17:52, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure it's a scam anymore, they have people working as bouncers and security guards in USA apparently. The guy who bought did own it and was looking for ways to use it, charges against him were dropped and he won a court case which allowed him to house prisoners not from Montana (according to Billings Gazette). But because of various media pursuing his obviously shady history and some mis-filed stuff the guy eventually backed out. I don't believe it was a con and if given the chance, Hardin wouldn't be a shithole today too. 99.236.221.124 (talk) 01:13, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Changed word 'hoax' to 'fraudulent entity' in first paragraph. Hoax designates a practical joke. From current availability of documented or verifiable sources, the American Police Force did exist, and though it was short-lived, was a security force for hire owned temporarily as a business entity by Michael Hilton. American Private Police Force Org, Inc. was registered with the state of California as an active business entity on March 2, 2009 with articles of incorporation. However, they were not licensed to work as security in the states in which they -fraudulently- did so. Awolnetdiva (talk) 05:05, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
Is this article still a stub?
[edit]I think the article has evolved and we can now remove the stub notifications at the bottom. John Hyams (talk) 00:37, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
