Questions[edit]

I am Annie Schultz but my frenids call me vivienn "Just two cities away from their Broadway debut." Should that be two days? --Sluggoster 05:10, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't think so. The production toured for a while before landing on Broadway. --Paul A 07:40, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

In the "Movies" section, Was the comment, "Punjab and The Asp are bought back for this film, although the characters are supporting roles" supposed to be for the sequal? AND We need to make album pages for the different soundtrack releases (as a part of the WikiProject Albums) Are theses good titles?  :

Pop Culture references to "Tomorrow"[edit]

Do we really need a list of every pop culture reference to this song? The song epitomizes the musical and is completely entrenched in pop culture (at least in the US). I have never seen or heard a single line from the musical, and yet I know "Tomorrow" from the pop culture references alone. We're starting to get a pretty ridiculous list of "'Tomorrow' is sung in X-episode of Y-TV show." -- 12.116.162.162 17:04, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Maybe there should be a seperate article for "Tomorrow"...like Tomorrow (Annie song). It would be a good place to move all the references, and the song is popular enough to have its own wikipedia page. Antmusic 17:25, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:AndreaMcArdle2.jpg[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

Image:AndreaMcArdle2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:36, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

10 or 11?[edit]

An IP made this change, of her age from 11 to 10. Does anyone have a source for the correct age? delldot talk 15:24, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

She's 11 per mti, the rights holder to the show. Fixing now. --omtay38 15:39, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Recently, changes have been made to the age of Annie, several changing the age to 10. I've changed back to (age) 11, based on this discussion. (See edits on 05-28-08, 14:58, also 05-27-08, 19:36 that changed the age to 10. Also on 05-22-08, 10:36, her age was changed to 12 1/2.). JeanColumbia (talk) 16:02, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

I think maybe it should be noted that sometimes they change the age of the character Annie from eleven to ten. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tweedle20 (talkcontribs) 23:16, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Who is the "they" that makes this age change? What does "sometimes" mean--a school/amateur production? Not to be disparaging, but, in my opinion, the article should stay focused on the original Broadway production and any subsequent professional, notable revivals. Should there be a signficant change (such as Annie's age) in a notable prduction, that could be mentioned. I believe this is consistent with the guidelines in WP:WPMT: "If the show was presented in one form originally and then edited (cut, new numbers added, etc.) for another production, that could be discussed in a section on adaptations or versions. For instance, Chicago originally opened in one version and then, for the more successful revival, changes had been made, and the significant changes should be described." JeanColumbia (talk) 23:33, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Wow, that was harsh. Just saying, JeanColubia, you could of simply said, "No, we probably need to foucs on the Broadway production more." Not trying to be mean, just saying. But anyway. That isn't even what I meant. Tweedle20 (talk) 20:38, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Tweedle20

Plot[edit]

Since the old plot was deleted because of copyright violation, I started a new one. I did this one strictly from memory (so as not to be influenced, even unconsciously by anything), so there may be some minor errors. I know it needs filling out, and also could use song placement. JeanColumbia (talk) 20:44, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Character section[edit]

The character section added on 03-28-08 was a copyright violation, from: [[1]], with the songs each character sang added. See WP:COPY for Wikipedia copyright policies, which are, briefly: "Do not copy text from other websites without a GFDL-compatible license. It will be deleted."

I also note that "voice parts" were included; should anyone want to add a Character section, please read the discussion of this subject here: [[2]], which indicates a consensus against including voice parts. JeanColumbia (talk) 16:32, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Original Broadway Cast[edit]

I think since people have been searching this article hoping for the Broadwya cast, someone should start like an article called

Annie (Original Broadway Cast)

Just a suggestion. Tweedle20 (talk) 00:24, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Tweedle20

Beanie Baby Island[edit]

I have just deleted edits related to a "production" of Annie, and I quote: "Beanie Baby Island will have a production in 2009 with Cheezer as Annie". This needs to carefully sourced, per the usual WP:VERIFY, as it sounds as if it might not meet the notability guidelines (as well as several others) as it stands. (I am, of course, assuming good faith and being WP:CIVIL.) JeanColumbia (talk) 22:14, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Okay, it's REALLY obvious that there will not be a production of Annie in "Beanie Baby Island"!And with "Cheezer" as Annie. Tweedle20 (talk) 20:42, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Tweedle20

Merge proposal[edit]

There seems no need for a separate article about one production of the musical, as it is included in "Production history" here, and any artistes who are notable have, or should have, their own articles. PamD (talk) 10:46, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Agree, the separate article (titled "Annie (Original Broadway cast)") is a list which simply repeats the performer's name and role and has no special informative value. Many of these performers are not-notable (that is, are red-linked). The article "Annie (Original Broadway cast)" should either be merged or deleted. (I shall repeat this opinion on the talk page of the subject article.)JeanColumbia (talk) 11:05, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
To add: I think that the article ("Annie (Original Broadway cast)") does not meet the criteria of WP:STAND, "Lists of people", in that almost all of the performers listed are not notable. JeanColumbia (talk) 11:12, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Don't merge it. It's a pathetic article. I wrote it and it's pointless and very stupid. Please someone DELETE it. Tweedle20 (talk) 13:56, 17 June 2009 (UTC)Tweedle20

Copy Right Violation[edit]

The plot material added on September 28, 2009 22:16 is a copy & paste from the MTI site [[3]], which is a copy right violation. I reverted to the last plot write-up. See the "Terms of Use" on the MTI site, which states, in part: "You may not copy, reproduce, transfer, republish, upload, post, transmit, broadcast or distribute Content in any way or in any media now known or hereafter devised except for your personal, noncommercial home use only." See the Wikipedia rules on copy right at WP:COPY. Directly below this edit box the copyright policy is stated: "Please do not copy and paste from copyrighted websites – only public domain resources can be copied without permission". JeanColumbia (talk) 07:09, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

With the Great Financial Crisis of 2008-onwards this sounds more relevant since the 1970s[edit]

I wonder if a big Hollywood production is underway; are there sources supporting it? --212.54.222.41 (talk) 09:13, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Video of the original cast singing 'Tomorrow'[edit]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVBe1cU1M3E I wonder if the 'rights' are ok to include it in the article. --Leladax (talk) 17:07, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

2014 National tour[edit]

According to this casting notice, ([[4]]) there will be a Non-Equity National Tour, produced by Troika Entertainment. Tour starts in September 23, 2014 in Detroit, MI, Contracted through August 2, 2015. My opinion is that we should wait to include this information in the article until there is a more definite announcement, say a press release (and published in the standard sources such as Playbill, New York Times, one of the other on-line sources) that meets the WP:RS guidelines. (This article, dated June 7, 2013 in Playbill, states that there will be a National Tour in the 2014-15 Season [[5]], but I think this is too vague. Flami72 (talk) 14:27, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
