WHY is this link blocked?[edit]

I wanted to include this external link to the Artur Gold page:

www.holocaustresearchproject.org/nazioccupation/gold&szpilman.html Holocaust Research Project: reminiscences of Artur Gold in Treblinka

It is blocked! Why? Please tell me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jane Peppler (talkcontribs) 01:59, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that the owners of HRP.org and HRP.net have been warring with each other over the past several years about which one is the better site. They keep spamming their sites all over the place - MINE IS BETTER NO MINE NO MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE etc. So this was dealt with by blacklisting both their URLs. Details here. Actually, sorry - that's out of date. One of the two sites has closed down, the other is still up. So I'll see about getting this fixed. DS (talk) 18:37, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request for help[edit]

{{helpme}} I see that "Jewish composers and songwriters" has a subcategory for "Jewish American composers and songwriters." I would like to create a subcategory "Jewish composers and songwriters in Europe" - the reason I want it general (not "in Poland," "in Russian," etc.) is because the Jewish musicians moved around so much - and even if they didn't move, the country they were in could change since the borders were changed so often - thanks.Jane Peppler (talk) 17:31, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I've forgotten how to create categories. You might want to ask at WP:POLAND or help desk and I'm sure someone will help out. I think the idea of such a category is a good one, though "in Poland" and "in Russia" could be non-exclusive sub categories.Volunteer Marek (talk) 21:44, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Jane Peppler! Sorry for the slow reply ^_^
I believe that if you were to add "[[Category:Jewish composers and songwriters in Europe]]" to the bottom of one of the article pages to start with.
Then visit Category:Jewish composers and songwriters in Europe and add "[[Category:Jewish composers and songwriters]]" to the bottom of that page.
(I think this is right to the best of my knowledge) Hope that helps/works. Kind regards, Captain n00dle\Talk 22:47, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
