Anomalous results

I added Cluebot III, but due to the improper formatting (missing titles, lack of chronological order and missing editor signatures) all entries were archived except one. Since none of the discussions were ongoing, I am inclined to archive that entry also and start fresh.

It also appears that many issues in both the article and this page are due to the editors being undergraduates assign to edit this article as part of a psych class. Perhaps there needs to be a guideline written: A WP article is not a term paper. WriterArtistDC (talk) 01:34, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

A concrete example of the difference between a WP article and a term paper is in the use of primary sources. I am running into a number of journal articles that present conclusions of single experiments or studies rather than an overview or literature review. Attitudes is a venerable concept in psychology which has many academic books to cite. WriterArtistDC (talk) 02:31, 24 November 2023 (UTC)

Cleanup

I have done some basic cleanup to the article, since there does not appear to be any other editors actively contributing, I may proceed with more substantial edits. I am thinking about removing the section on Jung's concept of attitude, which appears to be about general personality types rather than the current mainstream concept of the term. WriterArtistDC (talk) 01:24, 22 November 2023 (UTC)

I have edited the Jungian definition down to that contained in one source that takes a contemporary view.
Other edits have involved the removal of content not supported by the sources cited, or that are generally off-topic, such as content regarding business ethics supported by sources that are not about attitudes as a psychological term. I have found many contemporary sources to add, but decided to do a cleanup first. WriterArtistDC (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
Proceeding from cleanup to adding new content and sources.--WriterArtistDC (talk) 15:58, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
