Notable Former Rookies[edit]

I question the value of this section. It is long, the players are of differing quality and note, and it is only likely to increase in length as more fans add their favourite players. Perhaps we remove this section until a rookie wins the Brownlow. Aspirex 14:42, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

The articles about the AFL darft and the Rookie List only mention eligibility in terms of age. Where do the players come from? Do they come from district competitions? state competitions? Do they have to be in senior competitions, or could a really good U18 be selected in the pre-season draft. And how does a player get to be on a 'draft list?'. Do players have to nominate themselves for an actual list, or is anybody who plays in a more junior competition automatically eligible to be drafted? I've tried reading the articles to understand how it works but I don't think the articles explain the eligibility aspect of it very well. Could somebody please help out and fill in the gaps. —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 15:51, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
