Old BOB menus[edit]

At the time, UK Sterling, Jersey pounds and Euros were accepted. The smallest Euro coin accepted is .50. Change is given in UK Sterling. Credit cards are available for purchased from £5 to £100 (€8.50 to €125) WhisperToMe (talk) 05:42, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Other aircraft[edit]

The article has their fleet as all Airbus. They do have some Embraer 140's and 145's as I've flown on those aircraft before with BMI. However, I don't know how old they are. RangerFish (talk) 10:01, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Those aircraft are operated by BMI Regional. SempreVolando (talk) 10:04, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ooops - didn't realise BMI Regional was considered a separate entityRangerFish (talk) 10:40, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Buy on board menu[edit]

Latest one: http://www.flybmi.com/downloads/Menu.pdf - http://www.webcitation.org/6789wVWKn WhisperToMe (talk) 04:30, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know it helps to archive these links but I cant see any use ever for a copy of the on board menu! MilborneOne (talk) 10:39, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The menu does state which class of passengers is eligible for free food (and what is free) and which group has to pay for it. In particular it shows the service standards at the end of the airline's life - It also stated that cash was accepted - UK Sterling and Euros were accepted on board- The smallest coin accepted was .50 and change was given in UK sterling WhisperToMe (talk) 10:41, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It may do but it is not notable and not really encyclopedic and would never be part of the article so I dont really see the point. MilborneOne (talk) 10:50, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You might want to take a look at Continental_Airlines#Meal_and_drink_services - From my understanding talking about in-flight services is encyclopedic and notable WhisperToMe (talk) 11:50, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How to list the airline in airport articles?[edit]

Should we list the airline as in airport articles as BMI or British Midland International? I know someone listed the flights at the London Heathrow Airport page as British Airways operated by BMI but British Airways acquired full ownership of the airline but does BMI still operate as a seperate airline? Snoozlepet (talk) 22:15, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can tell from the press releases British Midland International are operating as a stand-alone operation for the rest of the summer season, so British Airways operated by BMI is not right. MilborneOne (talk) 11:36, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
According to [1], "Over the next few days, all bmi flights in and out of London Heathrow will become available to book on ba.com. bmi will still be the operating airline." For now at least we should leave the listings as they are, but it may be worth changing soon. Cloudbound (talk) 17:14, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated tags[edit]

I have added these tags as there are several sections that do not reflect changes since the IAG buyout. While it is nobodys fault, infomation is rapidly changing as the transition from Lufthansa to IAG takes place. I added the tags to remind editors to keep on top of this. Thanks, Oddbodz (talk) 15:09, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

{{update}} is really a less strongly worded version of {{out of date}}, so I merged the two. Frietjes (talk) 17:06, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fleet: slight inconsistency?[edit]

Hi. I note in the text that a DC-3 was purchased in 1955 (I think - as I cannot now see the main text!). I mention this aircraft as it does not seem to be mentioned in the historical fleet list. I flew from Burnaston to Jersey and back in about 1958 in (what the captain called) a DC-3 - but I do not know if this was the aircraft bought in '55. Would it be possible to check the acutual type identities of this part of the fleet (C-47 or DC-3) to make sure we have the types correct? I appreciate this is a nause and minutiae but we might as well get it right if it is slightly out. I also can confirm that customs clearance was at the then Elmdon. Thanks.
