Second complex edit

[edit]

Hello Fellow Wikipedians!. I have copyedited this terrible article that has been updated with a number of fans over the last 2 years into a complete mess. It is now reasonably decent.

  • Full copyedit.
  1. Removed blog refs, illegal refs.
  2. Removed non notable content.
  3. Added several links
  4. Removed promotional stuff around Starttv.
  5. Removed series info in BLP article.
  6. Removed minor roles in non notable series.
  7. Removed social media refs, and stuff related to media and associated WP:PROMO
  8. Reformed several parts.
  9. Removed commericals as these are non notable.
  10. Removed tags as copyedit complete.

Why are awards being removed?

[edit]

Hi I added all the awards (more than 5) he has achieved. But one author is removing them everytime.. please reach a consensus on this..i think the awards one received should matter in a biography.. please agree to keep the awards and i would update it. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UmeNasr (talkcontribs) 16:56, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I am the editor removing them. They are not notable. Previous consensus has already decided that an award must be notable to be included. Two awards I think are already mentioned in the lede and they don't add anything to the article by adding minor awards that are not notable. As regards the external links, Wikipedia policy prohibits promotion in an article per WP:NOTADVERTISING. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a social media platform. Are you being paid to put this stuff in?scope_creepTalk 18:51, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ok i agree with social media part, we wont put it. Although if someone wants to reach out to a favourite actor and doesnt know his/her social media accounts , we could have been helpful. As for the awards, BIAF international actor award is a very notable award in the middle east ! Check out http://www.biaf.co/about for yourself.

No i am not being paid, i am just a big fan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UmeNasr (talkcontribs) 15:19, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Albanian descent

[edit]

@Nik xhelilaj: I see that you have removed the sentence Arduç is also of Albanian descent from the article again. You did not give an edit summary, see WP:ES, but I see that you have commented on this in your user talk page: [1]. The information we present in Wikipedia is not based on what you and I know or think we know, it is based on the use of reliable sources, see WP:RS. In this case there are two sources given for the information. They are both in Turkish, so I cannot really understand them, but with the help of Google translate I see that they both seem to support the sentence.

  • In the Milliyet article here, it says Aslen Arnavut olan Barış Arduç, baba tarafından Ordu Fatsalı, anne tarafından Artvin'lidir., which according to Google translate means "Barış Arduç, originally Albanian, is from Ordu Fatsal on the father's side and Artvin on the mother side."
  • In the Hürriyet Kelebek interview here, Arduç says Aslen Arnavut’um., which Google translate renders as "I am originally Albanian."

Wikipedia is based on co-operation between editors, and any conflicts about what to include and how to present it, should be solved through discussions here in the talk page, see WP:CONSENSUS. Repeatedly reverting to your preferred version is called edit war, see WP:EDITWAR, and may eventually lead to you being blocked from editing. To avoid that, I ask you to self revert, and then use this talk page to try and get a consensus for your version. --T*U (talk) 13:21, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
