I realize this is based on what the government site calls the outcome of this battle, but how is it a Union victory when they attempt to cut off the retreat of a defeated Confederate army (from the Battle of Corinth), fail to do so, and suffer more casualties than the Confederates in the process of trying? 18.104.22.168 (talk) 22:59, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- Well, the article (and the NPS page it copies) says "Ord had forced Price to retreat, but the Confederates escaped capture or destruction." Replace the names with Meade and Lee and you have the Gettysburg result as well. This is a stub article and definitely needs more information about the battle and its aftermath. Any volunteers?
