Use of "sic"[edit]

According to the article on sic, it is to be used when a spelling or grammatical error is in a citation and thus not an error of transcription. The citation quoted here uses a historically correct spelling of the word "maneuver." Since no error (it is historically correct) is in the citation, the inclusion of the "sic" is the error. Current usage and spelling is not superior, just different. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.121.204.129 (talk) 20:06, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
