Location of the Battle

[edit]

@Noorullah21

The Battle's location isn't in "Qarawal" Nor is there any major town,city,or village close to Lahore with that name.Instead Qarawal given to a military contingent.Quoting Hari Ram Gupta

"When the army went to the battle-field, their camps, kitchens, families and servants known as Bahir a Bungah were left in charge of a strong contingent, which was called Qarawal"

Gupta also mentions of Qarawal in his book on the History of the Sikhs Vol II in a location not near lahore as seen here

Needless to say it's clear that Qarawal isn't the name of any town city or village but it's instead the name of a military contingent.Due to this,the article should be renamed to something else. Twarikh e Khalsa (talk) 05:36, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Twarikh e Khalsa I see...what do you suggest the name could be changed toward? @Twarikh e Khalsa Noorullah (talk) 01:11, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking naming the article "battle near lahore" since thats the name ganda singh gave in his book ahmad shah abdali.Although i do think this new name suggestion is strange.I will try to come with something else Twarikh e Khalsa (talk) 01:58, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Twarikh e Khalsa There is already an article named Battle of Lahore (1764) with far more reliable sources and content particularly Gupta's book of latest volumes with his historical view point. This page is based on original source Jangnamah by Nur Muhammad that Gupta translated in 1930s. That is why Gupta's later book give more detail on this battle which article Battle of Lahore (1764) gives more detail on. 2601:547:B03:18CF:6539:CA2C:766E:D923 (talk) 12:45, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
