Police recruited a mob and didn't stop violence[edit]

Here Demiurge1000 removed this line:

Biloxi police recruited a mob of white citizens and took no action to prevent their violence against protesters.

with the edit summary "not in source cited". The source says explicitly:

But this was different from the wade-in of 1960, when police recruited a mob and stood watch while the protesters were beaten.

Against a single source, which itself depends on primary sources from the people involved, that doesn't mean much. It's also got a problem with WP:PARAPHRASE. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 00:49, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
That's kind of the very definition of a reliable secondary source, isn't it? It's a newspaper article subject to editorial control which relies on primary sources. There you go. I don't know what to say about your mention of paraphrase other than that I disagree and you're welcome to bring more eyes to bear on the issue if you'd like.— alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 00:57, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
