Name[edit]

In sources there is conflicting information as to the name of the punch created by Davey. It is sometimes referred to by both names, but the most credible citation regarding Davey's porter/ale version in the historic Australian cookbook lists it as just "Blow My Skull" (a porter based punch). It seems that overtime that "Blow My Skull Off" got to be used interchangeably with it, even though that appears to reference a different punch with very different ingredients (illegal and toxic). One may have been a precursor to the other, or named in part after the other, and while they may be related by name they are very distinct and different.

It can also be said that the research appears to indicate that while both names may be attributed to the Davey "porter" version, that when used as just "Blow my skull" it seems to ONLY reference the porter version.
