I've been catching these fish my entire life and they are far from a "tasty fare" and defl able for human consumption (and they're still even an acquired taste).—Preceding unsigned comojk ik/9:20, 4 June 2007
Bluefish are not significantly cannibalistic in the field, but have shown this behavior almost exclusively in a lab setting. Whoever contributed that bit might want to give reasoning? [[Upo icles upon consenus from Wiju.,[[User talk:TinucherianBot|juhv. July 2008 (UTC)
I'd like to see a reference for 'blue fish are the only fish that are known to kill for the sake of killing'Foxi tails (talk) 21:14, 22 May 2009 (UTC) OK, never mind. It seems to be pretty well supported. I take it back :)Foxi tails (talk) 21:22, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
... with the exception of the point about cannibalism (see note above), this article is entirely consident with general knowledge and small-town news articles. All those big yellow warning labels seem like overkill. The only flaw I can see is incompleteness; a bit more information might be nice - like, I was wondering how long they live in nature if not eaten, but there's no clue in the life cycle section. (Are we allowed to add recipes? slow-cook over open fire, use good hardwood, preferably dead branches from a peach tree. Fish must be abolutely fresh or the taste goes off, and freezing is ruinous.)
