This is not a rivalry[edit]

If anyone can come up with a non-WP source for this being a rivalry, please point me to it. The only context in which VT-BC can be considered a rivalry is the permanent cross-divisional matchup in football. If this is a "rivalry", you might as well call every single pairing of ACC teams a rivalry. Prodding for stupidity. VT hawkeyetalk to me 04:29, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Did you actually search for sources? Here are ones I found: "The Virginia Tech Hokies and the Boston College Eagles needed a move to the ACC from the Big East to change a challenging, annual game into a sizzling, annual rivalry" Boston College has been a worthy adversary of Hokies "Virginia Tech has other, older rivals. [...] Yet, today's opponent, Boston College, has been the worthiest of adversaries - the most painful of punching partners - over the past five years." "Rivalry Blooming Between Hokies, Eagles" Rivalry Continues: Hokies Face Boston College for ACC Title "According to Virginia Tech senior cornerback Victor "Macho" Harris, "Boston College and Virginia Tech: that's a rivalry game. Back and forth winning, tight games, you can expect excitement from the games. I call it a rivalry game." " "...Can the Hokies get the last laugh in this rivalry again?" "Cross-divisional rivalries that will be maintained include Maryland-Virginia, Clemson-Georgia Tech, N.C. State-North Carolina, Wake Forest-Duke, Florida State-Miami, and Boston College-Virginia Tech." Hokies Find an Unnatural Rival in Eagles "When Boston College moved from the Big East Conference to the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2005, one question concerned the absence of natural rivalries for the ACC's northernmost member. [...] But say hello to Virginia Tech, which was a dominant team in its final years in the Big East and has emerged as one in the ACC as well." "Tech-BC rivalry among the ACC’s best" "After three straight regular season losses to Boston College, #5 Virginia Tech restored order to this rivalry by pounding the Eagles 48-14 in a game that was over by halftime. " "Boston College is a school well-known for its athletic rivalries. .... but Clemson is turning into a big rivalry, as is Virginia Tech" "Call it a rivalry? Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer thinks so..."

Played each other on 'Rivalry Week' when both were in Big East: "The Eagles were seventh in overall defense, allowing 272 yards per game, and the Hokies rolled up 492 as the former Big East members renewed their rivalry in the ACC." "Tech is 1-2 against Boston College -- a team with which is developing a less intense rivalry [than Virginia]. " Boston College to meet old foe in new conference "The top collegiate football team from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts was taking on the best that the Commonwealth of Virginia had to offer, renewing the rivalry of the regions." "Virginia Tech at Boston College. Saturday, 8 p.m., ESPN2 ... Eagles a year later, this quickly is becoming one of the league's most compelling rivalries."

Boston College–Virginia Tech rivalryBoston College–Virginia Tech football rivalry – The title of this page should reflect the fact that it only talks about football. A good example of this is the Colorado–Nebraska rivalry page. It was moved to Colorado–Nebraska football rivalry because it only talked about football and nothing else.
