Burnham Overy Tower Windmill[edit]

Look I am not knocking the National trust with any kind of malice and it is not a personal opinion which you seem to be prone to. I’m just stating facts. Have a look for yourself in the stated published books I have mentioned.Stavros1 (talk) 18:44, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Where pray, have I expressed any personal opinion in Wikipedia article space? As an aside, have you any explanation of why this mill is not listed at National Trust Cottages? The water mill just along the road is divided into two cottages which are listed. (I hasten to say that I am not doubting your word in the slightest, I am just genuinely puzzled.) -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 18:37, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am glad to see that you have done your research into this mill and I’m afraid I cant help you in to the reasons why the Trust seem to totally ignore this fine windmill, other than to place a notice on the gate stating that they own it. I have not even been able to find any information about hiring the windmill for a holiday and I only live a few miles along the coast from the windmill. Section Removed by User:RHaworth who think that the statement is National Trust knocking, I feel it is just stating a fact that this organization is not fulfilling its obligations as far as some of the property they are supposed to manage on behalf of the people of this country. the Trust do not even allow for visits to this mill nowerdays which is a great shame.i know this to be true as i live just a few miles along the coast from this windmill

  • Don't worry, Stavros1. I stayed in this mill several times when I was young and can assure you there is little worth seeing inside. The great break wheel is still in place, firmly wedged to prevent the sails revolving. But that is about it. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 17:04, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
