huh?[edit]

In the first paragraph, it says, "They reformed in 2001 to resume making music for Cole and making him proud up away to resume their career." This makes no sense. I would correct it myself but I'm not certain what it's trying to say. ~ Resister (talk) 08:53, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

mariah yuliah[edit]

no the page isnt 'about" deborah cooper,per se, however she is a major, long term part of c+c having been with rob and david since day 1, Deborah cooper has performed lead, over track, cover, and background vocals both credited and non. The recent american express commercial "everbody dance now , with ellen degeneres is not martha wash, its deborah cooper. Deborah also did the track vocal that Aretha Franklin used to listen to while singing her version for sister act at Arethas request!, a decent honor! So since its about C+C, itd consider her part of the "+" that held the "c"s together. since a section uses alternate works, experiences and titles and expands beyond clivilles and cole; lets not forget "Clivilles and Coles present Deborah Cooper" which is not only 2 hit singles, but how she also appeared and was presented on saturday night live...as a solo singing performer!

You choose a screename of mariah, Ms Cooper appears in many of mariahs tracks , tours with her frequently both nationally and internationally, in her tours videos when they interview her crew, its deborah thats resoinds how great deborah is.. and when mariah introducers her background singers at mariah show, mariah says, and now my main background singer..you know her Miss Deborah Cooper she sings "Pride" ( background singers sing'a deeper love" mariah" "PRIDE" a deeper love woh ho ho ho.... Sorry for late responce. I hope you have an acount these days :). About my editing, please remember that it's been 13 years this year that David died (de facto ending C&C) and I can forget things :), so I can make errors too and in this case I seemed to have done that. C+C Say What?[edit]

I always thought that the group's correct title was "CNC Music Factory" - the CNC being a wordplay on the acronym for Computer Numerical Control and the initials of the group founders. Anyone provide enlightenment? 04:35, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

It was C+C, and sometimes CC, simply the initials of the two producers Clivillés and Cole. "CNC" is a common misspelling, undoubtedly encouraged by the "factory" part of the name. --Cheesemaster 04:44, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The correct title and spelling is definitely "C + C Music Factory" with a plus sign. Frequently misspelled as C&C with an ampersand (&) CNC, CC etc are incorrect.

Are you sure about that - in an interview October 2016 on thump.vice.com the founder refers to it as "C&C" for the group but the 1995 album was "C+C Music Factory". Starburster perhaps that is why there has always been some confusion?

Merger[edit]

Support merger of MVP (band) into C+C Music Factory. MVP(band) is not notable on its own....only google hits are the wiki article and other bands named MVP Anlace 20:45, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Done. I also did some minor cleanup and added a few mentions of the movie Sister Act, since the song "just a touch of love" is in the movie. There was also a video that was at least featured on VHS copies of the movie, not sure about DVD.Splent 18:49, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Group's Controversy[edit]

Years Active[edit]

Thanks for spotting this! In this interview with Robert Clivillés he states that he "pretty much walked away from the music industry" after David Cole died on January 24, 1995 and that calls "tours that claim to have C&C Music Factory" "terrible". Article Updated to Reflect Legal Ownership[edit]

After doing some research, I discovered that Freedom Williams actually legally owns the Trademark rights to C&C Music Factory (live performances since 2003, all rights including music since 2014, and have made alterations to the article to reflect that, since the prior edit said it was "unofficial performances". I wasn't sure how to reference the trademark info (you can view on the TESS database but you can't deep link), so I put in the reference numbers.

It looks like the original producers, Sony, etc., never registered the group name as a Federal Trademark, and Mr. Williams grabbed it when he started taking gigs again. I've left Clivillés quote in with his reaction (by ethical standards this could be perceived as "stealing the rights") but changed the article since if anything now, the official line is the legal lineup by objective standards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JohnRTroy (talk • contribs) 00:09, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
