Fair use rationale for Image:Logo anim.gif[edit]

Image:Logo anim.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:32, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

COI IP edits[edit]

IP 157.138.5.16 has made a large number of edits here. According to this whois lookup, the IP range 157.138.0.0 – 157.138.199.255 is assigned to "Universita' Ca' Foscari - Venezia". I've therefore added the IP as a {{Connected contributor}} above. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 13:21, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request edit on 7 June 2014[edit]

Delete "The institute became a university in 1968". This information is untrue and is not reported on the official Ca' Foscari history (http://www.unive.it/nqcontent.cfm?a_id=164424#history) or on any other sources. 157.138.102.109 (talk) 14:08, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That information is cited to this content from the website of the university, " ... un felice connubio tra forze politiche consentì che nel 1968 nascesse finalmente l'Università degli Studi di Venezia". Are you quite sure of your facts? Do reliable published (and, at this point, visible) sources give some other date? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:18, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see that this site you link states "in 1935, ... the school became a fully-fledged State University, "
while this site which is the University's own history says "a happy marriage between the political forces that allowed born in 1968 finally the University of Venice".
How do we sort this out?--S Philbrick(Talk) 16:45, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Good question! I've just been looking at it. I've just added a couple of sentences; please let me know if you think they are an adequate representation of the facts as reported in independent sources. I'm afraid the university itself may, like so many of us, be looking at its past through rose-tinted spectacles, which is why I asked the university IP if it was sure of its facts. This source, also self-published, carefully refrains from stating that it became a university, and says only that it had the rank of one – which, as a degree-awarding body, in a certain sense it did.
Oh, by the way, I shouldn't really be referring to it:Giannantonio Paladini as an "independent source", either; I do see him as reliable, though.
Oh, and thank you, 157.138.102.109, for using {{request edit}}. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:13, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Closing request: This is an old request and the discussion petered out. – S. Rich (talk) 04:33, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
